Sleep

Sleep, I believe is just a waste of time. Most people spend 1/3 of their life's in bed. Imagine all the things you would be able to do if sleep wasn't required.

Would you get rid of sleep?

I really wish I could sleep more. I sleep maybe 3-5 hours a day. I think sleeping is one of the greatest past times ever I just can't seem to pull it off very well.

Hmmm??? But sleep pretty much allows the faster recovery doesnt it? As well as a relaxation for the body to not have so much pressure on the spine due to all the sitting and standing. I would think that you would crush it. But, if there was a possible way to get the brain to go into the so called REM like that during the night time without sleep..yeah..would be crazy to have 24 hr active ppl....New form of sleepwalking. ^^

here's my opinion...only people who get enough sleep could possible call it a waste of time. i don't get enough sleep (admittedly it's my own fault <shakes fist at crunchyroll>) so i wish i could sleep so much more

I don't get enough sleep. I maybe get 6-5 hours.

Yea, whats your point really? We sleep for a reason. Our bodies repair themselves, and so on. If you don't get your necessary amount, which for most people is around 8hours a day, then your in trouble. So, clearly it is not a waste of time, at the moment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_deprivation#Effects_on_the_brain

I'm a normal person, and I would certainly like to decrease my sleep needs to say 5hours.

So, there you go, to give the thread some purpose...How can I cut back on sleep to say 5 hours and still be good?

I love to sleep! I only sleep for 6-10 hours a night! Im going to sleep since I'm back from school...

Blahblahblah sleep is good for you body, yeah, I agree, but I don't like sleeping. I especially dislike sleeping since I'm the type of person who would not wake up for an eternity if alarm clocks and family did not exist... I feel as if my life is passing me by as I sleep, so I'd rather be awake than tucked under the covers dead to the world. Bah.

I'm probably going to die early though... hehe... I only get normally get 4-5 hours of sleep a night. Oops.

LoL.....ive been reducing my sleep since 2004. i used to sleep about 12-24 hours a day. basically get up for class and come home and fall right back to sleep. was horrible. felt like i never slept when i got up....wait a minute...its still like that.

depends for me, sometimes I take naps throughout the day, or sometimes I get 5 hours, or sometimes less. On Sunday I usually have a rest and sleep for 8 hours if I can.

i used to sleep for about 12 hours a day too, during my school days... but when i went out for work... the range shortened to 6-7 hours only...though the first few days of 1-2wks or so, i find it hard to wake up and will feel sleepy after waking up...but surprisingly... after that 2 wks... it's more refreshing and my mind could think more properly..higher level of concentration..

my point is...too much sleep = not very good...but of course different people have different sleeping hours requirement... find it yourself..=D

I only get around 5-6 hours of sleep a night... ;___; Except on weekends where I sleep around 8-9 hours. ^^;


I think we all need more sleep... Or we'll end up being like zombies.
