All of the girls voices sound the same except Mai's, which English voice actors duplicate poorly. I bought the first volume thinking I'd at least tollerate the English voice overs, and I watch it with subs.

They dumb it down in English too so it's not as sentimental and I'm just like...that sets the whole mood of this anime.

as a huge fan of Kanon 2006, I dont mind watching it even in dubbed, but of course Jap is wayyyy better, and the good thing is, that the dub is the same as the Jap, they didnt change anything, the character names and the things they say are the same as the subs...

Dub was good I say. Sub was good. You dense minded sub purists should watch both versions of anime in general to see if said series' Japanese version was better than the English dub. A smart purist should know that there as bad Japanese versions too. They should also have the brains to know some dubs are better than the subs.

Um.
There is.
I've watched it myself and it's not that bad.

I can see where dub supporters are coming from, this series isn't horrible in English and it's more convenient for those who don't like to read subtitles but in this instance I think the Japanese version is by far superior. The emotion the Japanese voice overs show is amazing, in English they always sound like they're trying too hardto convey something and that's how it comes across (forced...)

Yes, the names and such were kept the same but the wording was changed, which for me effected the whole mood in scenes like Sayuri's flashback with her brother...

The english voices I thought were at least semi-fitting in this dub were:

Yuuichi
Kitagawa
Kazuya
Mrs. Kiwasumi
Shiori's Classmate
Amane

Most of the main character's voices were a train wreck in my opinion
