1. I'm on most of the time and hate seeing unorganized/spammed topics.

2. I have modded 4 different forums and have never had anyone complain as to my modding rules. 2 sites are now gone due to inactivity (old sites) 2 others should still be up, one where I'm currently still an Admin/Moderator:
http://core.clan-ws.net/modules.php?name=Forums - current moderator
http://shiningforcecentral.com - should still be up (VERY popular site)
The other 2 being gone I don't particularly remember, if you need them anyway, feel free to PM me and I'll try finding them.

3. I don't have any style, I have never banned anyone or temp banned. That leads to more problems for me, instead if I see someone repeatedly breaking the rules then I'd PM you and see if you want to ban them. I would delete or rather lock a topic if it becomes a spam hotspot, delete it if it has anything considered offensive (religious pun, porn, unneeded amount of swearing), I'm extremely lenient, just love to have a good forum.

True I have just joined, but I believe I will come to contribute quite a bit... williewill posted a UT video of me in your videogames section, I'm also an avid Starcraft player and always buy anime DVD's which I RIP to my computer so I'll be able to upload some decent videos when I get the time to. Right now I'm in college so not enough time to let my computer RIP videos since I'm always running tests on it, but forums don't take that much RAM.

If anyone has any requests to DVD rips, don't be afraid to PM me, you'd be very surprised at what I have and/or can find

^.........Who the hell are you?

Also, do you mean permanent ban or just temp ban and do you mean from the forums or the site in general? Also, most of the time instead of PMing people about an argument, couldn't you just read the thread?

I am ZeroEnna, but you may call me Anonymous.

Yes but I would also like explanations from others. The reason being because of the mods of my old forum were extremely corrupt and read the threads the wrong way sometimes, I'm not saying I can't analyze the situation very well I just want the story from both Offenders. (It makes it much more fair for everyone.) Also I would use a Temp Ban for spam I would rarely perma-ban spammers unless its constant..

I also believe if shinji needs any of us applying to be moderators to answer more questions that he could always PM the ones that he is considering for the positions with those questions.

1. My main reason to be a Forum moderator is to keep the forum clean, away from spammers, net predators, generally to keep the forum safe.

2. My expirence as a moderator has not been any, but I have personally been an Administrator on forums as I make my own, I know the moderator/Administrator controls very well.

3. Over the future of me and my forums the biggest issue was spamming, flooding and Admin/Moderator insults, I usually warn them then after 3 times I will temporarly bann them for a day, if they continue you, it will be a week then month etc. I also had problems with my forums being user flooded, as in people kept signing up endlessly.

Thank you for your time.

Shinji my friend,

You know i love you and you know i love CR...

BUT you also know i can not become a "mod" (not that i really know what that is) This is the second forum i have posted on in my entire life. I know im a noob; (about 18 years or so of anime) when it comes to forums, if you see my cr it is because i found another way of helping out.

However, i feel there should be someone looking out in the forums. As I have a younger sister and younger family still; that frequently visits forums (unfortunately not anime ones ) I do not want to be a part of those commmunities online that is feeding young people with "bad ideas" and most of you people probably know what i mean.

I love crunchyroll and would like nothing more than to see it flourish as the bud it currently is. Unfortunately i dont spend enough time in the forum (about 30 posts now * he says proudly) and even if i wanted to; there would just not be enough time to keep track of everything and watch the little anime i have time for.

SO PLEASE SHINJI PICK 3 RESPONSABLE AND EFFICIENT "MOD" (is that an abbreviation for moderator?)

God i sound like a noob :(

I do hope the forum will not bastardise CR because of people posting stuff that clearly does not belong here.

And finally; i read a few post with people saying they would be harsh against racial discrimination. I totally agree, but who (not japanese watching anime) would be a racist? It's like a joke; "I dont like any race but my own, but i watch subtitled anime"?!

KEEP IT CLEAN AND KEEP IT FUN GIRLS/GUYS, see how i put the girls before the guys

I put my support behind WillieWill. I know him personally, and I know of his qualities. Should he receive a Moderation position, I've no doubt that he would do anything and everything he could to make this site a better place.

A mod position does slightly interest me...and I've had some past experience in being one. However, I don't feel that I'm here on the forums enough for me to be as effective as I'd like to be should I receive the role.

1. I want to be a moderator to help you around Shinji because I am sure it can be rather stressfull if you do everything on your own. The administrator needs time to relax as well while being sure the forum will be okay. I also want to keep the forum fun and nice to be on for members. ^^

2. I was a moderator on quite a few forums but on one of them I left because of personal reasons. So yeah I have been a moderator for 1 or a bit longer year.

3. Banning someone: Still spamming after getting a few warnings.
Deleting topics: If it is anything too sexual, about hating different kind of cultures and such. If it's SPAM and such.
Ofcourse if someone made a mistake I would ask on the forum or via PM to try not to do that anymore. I would ask that nicely and give advice if it's needed. It also would be very good to keep people on staying to the topic and not going off-topic. If going off topic happens too much I would lock that topic. Suggestions of other members are welcome ofcourse ^^

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo GLAD Shinji has decided to ask for help, because looking through the forums has become a pain for me too, seeing lots of spam and whatnot, until I've completely stopped visiting the forum for a while. But seeing poor Shinji try to do so much on his own, I guess I'll try applying to be a moderator too:

1. Nothing I say can make me a 'best' candidate, but if the community is able to respect and acknowledge an individual to take care of CR, then I'm glad to extend a helping hand.

2. Um, I've been modding this other game forum http://abyss-uk.com/cityThe Abyss City for almost 2 years, been promoted from a Forum mod for 3 boards to the current Global Mod, so I'm kinda free lately. That forum has been running since 2003 , and has cultivated an environment that's organised and controlled, but by no means quiet. Though it is not an overly populated place, I'm proud to be a part of that place. *Edit: My profile over there: http://www.abyss-uk.com/city/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1532

3. Oh God, this is such a LONG topic. I feel that CRers should be aware of the basic Forum Rules that apply to all boards, and is obligated as a user to understand the rules pertaining to CR's standards. It is a general form of respect to keep a place you frequent neat and tidy but have fun, because it is after all, a community to interact.

Banning and Tempban is a method that I would only use only as a last resort, and would suggest a fixed no. of warnings be accumulated before perm banning a user.

- Spambots
Lately, there have been spambots that plague even the most obscure forums, and it's a pain, because they register as new users and make a post full of links. Those names are usually obvious enough, like chair3426 or Ipoduser. As a moderator, it is also in their job scope to go through the new memberlists to monitor for potential spambots, in which case should be permanently banned.

- Spammers
There's a huge difference between a brainless spambot and an actual person who doesn't use brains when posting. I sound rather cruel in my opinions, but it's not that bad. I just can't bring myself to read posts that AreLikeThese, or 20,000 posts in sucession, or even worse; lIK3+hE53. Upon instilling forum guide and rules, if members aren't able to comply with the most basic terms, then they should be verbally warned via PM, and an official warn. Repeated offenders will be directly warned until they learn, or enough warnings are accumulated for a perm ban. Of course, it will have to be kept in mind that the user posted as such with the intention to be a nuisance. Spamming others' inboxes with slander / degrading terms may be subjected to removal of PM capabilities at the discretion of the administrator.

Posting and bugging others via PMs with the sole intention of CR points, are in my opinion spam as well. CR points are to measure loyalty and contribution, not how much spare time you have to spam. >_> Those I usually call 'post whoring' should receive a warning as well. Every repeated offence thereafter = temp ban of a week. Posts that were created by said postwhore will be deleted to take away the no. of points 'earned'.

- Interaction of Mods
I would also prefer to interact with other mods, and ask for opinions, advice, and it's a great way to let other mods / admins know what actions has been taken for different cases. In a way, when newer mods take on the role of moderating, these threads in a seperate board for mods can be taken as learning material.
- Duplication of Topics, Moving, Archiving, Locking, Merging are rather basic. Duplicated topics/posts get merged + notify user, locking topics that flamebait/flame others/self advertising of webpages, links to places which get user self benefits (Click to be one of my troops in DarkThrone! >_>)
Archiving threads that are old, non PG-13, quarrels that are better off not seen by the public etc etc.
Splitting offtopic conversations from a thread, esp in forum game threads, etc.
Moving topics that belong to another different subforum (which CR doesn't have yet, but I hope it will, in future)

I guess that's about what I would usually do for any forum. As for my personal style of moderation, I like to encourage creativity, interaction and fun, but within boundary. I like to explain things, rather than shutup and deal, which can be quite strict. Though I can be slightly unsympathetic in thoughts, I'm not actually that horrible.

One other value add that I can bring to CR is that because I'm from Singapore, and majority CRers are based on European timing, so I can help with moderation round the clock while other mods rest.

I don't mind not modding, but I hope my post can actually be of some help to the mods-to-be. Now I'm off to watch new dramas!!!~~

I have no idea who Faeleia, but she gets my vouch for mod, sounds like exactly what I do in WS forums, only it hasn't accumulated to the point of spam bots... though it might.

Btw <3 you for this quote:

I just can't bring myself to read posts that AreLikeThese, or 20,000 posts in sucession, or even worse; lIK3+hE53.

I so agree ><

my aplication

1. I am totally falling in love with this forum, but there are many people who are ruining it for me. I would like to help this site and not let anyone else ruin it for others

2. I have been a moderator on my school forums in high school. Since I came to college have been searching for a new forum to help out and to enjoy. I think that people who are moderators of more than one will not be able to help the site as much as they should.

3.My style is semi stiff. I like to give people warnings before I ban them or semi ban them. On the subject of spam post I will delete the post and send an email to the poster stating why I have deleted there post and warn them to watch what they post because it could result in them getting banned from the site.

I was reading some of the post on this thread and I don't really like the idea about using the CR points to decide who gets to be a moderator. I think that this is an unfair way to decide because some people are new to the site but have some real experience and good ideas.
