Not all dubs mind you Wolf's Rain - Bosch's Kiba Sengoku Basara - Bosch's Yukimura - Liam O Brian's Ieyasu - Riegal's Mori Final Fantasy XIII - Baker's Snow That's a game, of course Square Enix will hire good voice actors, mostly(Vanille is not so good, decide wheter you're going to talk in your australian accent or american :P). On most japanese games that gets published outside of Japan they manage to hire good VAs. |

They edit EVERYTHING. Anyone whose watched Yugioh Abridged would understand.
I do give them credit for one thing though, and that's THIS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oawUi9s3ENE |

That awkward moment when you realize you have nothing to type here.

Well, Do people realize that they're screwed?
Saban Brands (They make Power Rangers, they boght it back from Disney) basically bought the Toonzai block and anything they had already made like Sonic X, etc. Konami now owns the Yugioh Anime with the dubbing cast staying the same. I don't think we have to worry about them any longer or at least for a while . (Also, Yes Bring DIgimon Xros Wars to America.) And I don't like 4Kids either. They're wayyyy too sensitive or the soccer moms are |

This is pretty much why:
![]() Yes, it's from Final Fantasy, but it aptly illustrates the type of stupid and pointless changes they make to westernize anime "for the children", like when Funimation did this exact same thing in Dragonball Z. |

Their Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh dubs had an awesome voice cast and opening. That's the only good thing I can think of.

4Kids didn't ruin everything, Pokemon and Ultimate Muscle were the best they had to offer.

For all the hate that 4Kids gets, a lot of people seem to just overlook the undeniable influence they've had in helping to bring anime titles to the states and exposing more children to anime. Sure, maybe they're not the best quality in the world, but neither were the old fansubs people used to circulate via VHS. At least they brought them over legally so more people could see them. For that I give them props. I mean, really, how many young kids did you hear complaining about Pokemon back when it first released? From what I remember, practically every kid I knew thought it was the best thing in town.

Which is why I hope to find the Japanese subtitles one day. 100% Foreign. and 100% adult topics. Kiddy topic: Dead people are abducted. |

Ugh. I've always thought I hated Yu-Gi-Oh and Winx Club just because I wasn't interested in them. Now, browsing this thread and discovering what Yu-Gi-Oh was really like, I think 4Kids are just a group of racist, money-hungry assholes. Sure, their job is to make anime kid-friendly, but I think they just go a little overboard. No blood? Seriously? My brother is six years old, and he enjoys stuff like Ben 10 and Spiderman. They are aimed towards younger audiences, yet they both contain violence. And anyway, if 4Kids really want to introduce kids to anime, why don't they make their own anime that's free of violence, drugs and swearing.
If they get their grubby hands near Fruits Basket (which has heaps of Japanese references) or Vampire Knight (which has lots of blood), I'm giving up on anime alltogether. |
