the ending was great but it was sad for me.

In the ending, even though he looked like fine he was probably broken hearted. after all, he lost Kamina, then 7 years later he lost his friends and then he loses Nia too. no wonder he left the group in the ending because he almost lost everything precious to him or rather, he was left alone just like the old days.

Well, i really hated how kittan and the other members had to go and die... oh well, great anime anyway!

The ending is a tad sad, but it was alright. Just not something that great where it leaves you speechless. Regarding to the anime, it was pretty bad-ass.

That's AWESOME anime ever in age! But, lost cool character like Kamina sure unfair! Include Nia. I HATE that end so much! It ain't FAIR!

I want a good end... no, BEST end rather than bad end that Simon will be happier with Nia. I guess that's what make this anime into some kind twisted divine punishment...

The ending was AWSUM just to bad they time warped to much in the series like 7 years later etc and at the end simon helped that kid.
It was good but it dident leave any room for maby a followup Tho a fantastic ending for a fantastic anime 11/10

well the ending was indeed sad....we all wanted simon to be with nia =( and yoko lost kamina and kittan

dont know why they showed simon in the end as an old guy with a drill stick X_X

and it sucks that they cut off every possibility for a season 2!

(anyone cried manly tears when kamina died? =( )

well the ending was kind of good but i understand why nia had to leave but i was still hoping 4 some miracle
to bring her back and when they skip to the future almost everyone had really great lives but simon ended
up like a old wonderer. i mean come on the main character should at least have a better life than that.

Because he realize everything is not needed anymore. Thus he loose everthing, Kamina, Nia and think. Only him can use the Tengen Topa Guren Lagann and if he use it carelessly, it create the univers nermersis so he pass on to the one that could never achieve to that extent so it would not happen. Actually, it is nice seeing him has the power to shift to the past and save Nia before she goes beserk but he choose to not do it, it is great to the extent that people cannot be bring back to life once they died. Guren laggann series although it is fun and stuff but actually, it teach people a lot of things. Actually, it was very nice to see all those Gurapats flying to the sky in that formation. It reminds me of how simon always says his drill will pierce through heaven and people will follow the hole he dig. I guess it really happens at the last moment.
So it is not surprise to see Guren Lagann nominated as the Best ANIME "OVERALL" of 2006 even though there were so many great animes come out that year.

I it thought was a great series...until the ending...no the epilogue.
Nia fading away was touching but they should've ended at that at the least. I didn't like the 20-year time skip at all especially regarding simon. WTF he's now become a homeless bum?! What happened to all the piercing the heavens and doing the impossible he and kamina and the others believed in?! Instead of leading everyone in the future, he throws it away and becomes a bum! simon deserved a better ending than that imo
the time skip also probably killed any chances of continuity shouldve left it open-ended.
Also i was disappointed both Kamina AND kittan were killed. I really liked them both. poor me and man poor Yoko.
Other than that it was a pretty good. the epilogue just left a sour taste thats all.

it was way to short. but action packed thats why i loved it. so much happened in every episode.

the ending....it was diappionting to see simon at that old age past his prime. and how hes lonely. it was worst how he just handed over the spiral thingy. not cool. that kid was no where near as good as simon, kamina and kittan.
