- How do you know English?
I have been exposed to it ever since my pre-school years

- Where or who did you learn English from?
Teachers, my parents and the media I have been exposed to.

- Why do you know English?
It is the universal language and thus an important factor if you want to interact with people on a global scale.

- How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?
I speak English on a daily basis whenever I'm in school. I seldom use it outside considering that most of the people around me speak in Filipino.

- How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?
I am coherent enough. Not exactly verbose, but a person should be able to understand it.

- How badly do you butcher the words?
Not that bad, only when I SMS / text

- Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?
You have to take the IELTS to be able to compare.

- How helpful has the English language been to you?
Academically helpful & it aids me in interacting with professionals and individuals on the internet or outside of it.

- How do you know English?
my english is not bad, but it's not perfect either. I studied at a american school in my own city until 5th grade.
- Where or who did you learn English from?
As I said, I used to go to a school where we would learn all subjects in english, except on portuguese classes, which is my first language
- Why do you know English?
Same as above ^^
- How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?
I don't speak english at all, since there's no one I can speak with, and I'm not attending english classes anymore
- How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?
I think I'm coherent enough, people did understand me when I was in London and New York.
- How badly do you butcher the words?
Not much I guess...although sometimes I forget how to spell a word, especially when the english word is similar with portuguese but not exactly the same.
- Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?
No way!!!
- How helpful has the English language been to you?
classic books in english are way cheaper than the ones in portuguese;
there is some information which cannot be found in portuguese (ex. info for school papers)
etc...
english is also important for my future career.

- Insert something here pertaining to this subject, like funny stories, random facts, etc.
Can't think of any =="

How do you know English?
I moved to the US on July 14, 2005 so basically I was forced to learn it, whether I wanted to or not.

Where or who did you learn English from?
Grammar and vocabulary in classes and at home; profane language and slang terms at the school's hallways

Why do you know English?
I know it because I learned it

How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?
At home I speak Vietnamese (my native language), outside (and online) I speak English.

How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?
I speak English fluently, although I have a little accent whenever I say words that end with "rt". For example: art, start, smart.

How badly do you butcher the words?
Not much, I guess...but sometimes I do mess up some very, very simple words.

Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?
I am better than those who can't tell the difference between "than" and "then", "you're" and "your", "it's" and "its", or those who misuse "who", "whom", "whose", and "who's". Other than that, I still have a long way to go.

How helpful has the English language been to you?
Great for reading the subtitles in the videos

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit.

The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder. "I'm a panda," he says, at the door.

"Look it up." The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation...

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

In my week in CruchyRoll, I have seen that the population is made of mainly people in Asia and Asia Pacific (I might be wrong, so correct me if I am). Apparently, I am still vexed, hell pretty perplexed, on how some of you have come to know English - and really well I might add. So here is a couple of questions I want to ask, so I can finally put this question into rest. People not from Asia (i.e. Argentina and Europe) can still answer the following questions.

Questions:
- How do you know English?
- Where or who did you learn English from?
- Why do you know English?
- How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?

- Where or who did you learn English from?
Hmmm.. i have to say, i learn it from my early days as a yound student in my old school. My family started exposing my mind to english in a very young age and then when i started attending school, i learnt it in more depth.
