- How do you know English?

I learned it from constant exposure from my parents, my friends, and when I started to attend school in America.

- Where or who did you learn English from?

My parents and my kindergarten teacher.

- Why do you know English?

It is (probably) the universal language in today's age especially in America. It can be annoying trying to communicate your ideas to someone who cannot understand much less speak english.

- How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?

Mhmm. I speak it on a daily basis. If I'm not speaking english then I'm probably conversing in either Japanese or French.

- How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?

I speak english fluently. I don't think I have an accent like a southern accent or whatever. But due to the tone of my voice I tend to be mistaken for a british citizen... o_O

- How badly do you butcher the words?

I don't have a habit of butchering words ^_^ Maybe sometimes when I text but thats to conserve room.

- Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?

I don't know what to say to that cuz I'm one of those Americans XD

- How helpful has the English language been to you?

Very very helpful. From the classroom to my daily life.

- How do you know English?
I've been learning English since I became conscious of this world. I'm from the Philippines and yet my first word is in English! Besides, my school was totally into making us learn English like it was our first language so they would punish us if we say even 1 tagalog word.

- Where or who did you learn English from?
School, my family

- Why do you know English?
English is a MUST to know in our country, family, and to today's societ.

- How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?
I speak English like I breathe! Yes, I speak it even outside.

- How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?
I think that I'm pretty good at speaking in English. My language skills are above average, so I guess I'm really good.

- How badly do you butcher the words?
Well, it depends on my mood. If I'm really nervous, then I'll butcher them.

- Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?
Well, it depends on what kind of Americans. There are slackers who don't really care about the language but then there are also geniuses who can really talk.

- How helpful has the English language been to you?
Very helpful. Without English, I don't know how I'll understand the people around me right now. I live in the US so...

How do you know English?
When I went to school. Around the age 5?

Where or who did you learn English from?
Teachers

Why do you know English?
Like most said, it's the universal language. :D

How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?
Quite often since I live in Canada and stuff. But I speak my native laguage whenever.(and good at it! -proud-)

How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?
I think I'm good. But as for many teachers would say, "There is always room for improvements." But...I'm quite choppy at times when I try to use a new vocabulary!

How badly do you butcher the words?
Not very badly I guess.

Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?
No. I think my first language(Chinese) is WAY better than English. :(

How helpful has the English language been to you?
Very helpful of course!

Um....when I first got home from my kindergarten class. I tried talking to my family with my "English" and showing it off that I know more than them. (My parents came from China...so I guess I figured that they were "suckier" in some way. ) I ended up getting pwned....:(

- How do you know English?
first of all, i'm filipino born and raised.
- Where or who did you learn English from?
school and cable(yup, tv was a big part of my life.)
- Why do you know English?
i have to. if i dont, i'll fail english. besides we hav to move to new zealand so...
- How often do you speak English? Do you speak it outside?
i hav to. they cant understand tagalog(filipino).
- How good do you think you are at speaking English? Are you coherent or choppy?
choppy. but they say i'm good compared to some asians in our school.
- Do you think that you are better in English than the ones (Americans) who had it as their first language?
only in terms of grammar because english is taken pretty seriously by my old school because its not our first language.
- How helpful has the English language been to you?
well if u live in a country w/ english-speaking pple, wat do u think?

if ur a filipino planning to move here, it helps to learn the american english to get around. [but goodluck because it's almost useless here when they have thick british accents & use british english(different spellings and pronunciations) & some australian slangs. it's like learning all over again.]

but it just really helps to know it wherever u r because there r times u r forced 2 use it.
