Only fluent in English.
I have been learning Spanish for 6 years and will be taking it for college for the next 4. Can manage alright in it, but I prefer writing to speaking.
Just taken up German in college and so far I like it more than Spanish. Just getting the basics right now, regretting that I took Spanish in secondary instead.
I have been learning Irish for 14 years but it's a pointless language so I'm quite poor at it due to lack of interest.

Swedish and German being my first languages since my parents spoke those.
They used English to communicate with each other and I was also taught that is school.
And some Mandarin Chinese from my grandmother, but not fluent.
You have no idea how confused I was a child, becasue pretty much every person in my family has a different first language.

Yeah..... There's a person on the first page who have stated like 7 languages? I'm sorry, but that is clearly masquerading. I don't completely agree, google translation can be of help but cannot replace actual language knowledge. I have to correct many mistranslated text exactly because people think that it does everything. Google translation doesn't (rarely if so) take cultural interpretation, it can look ok from a word to word base but in context of the language it will mean nothing or at least won't make much sense. Even if you speak in a broken manner, if you can get your the other understand what mean/need, communication process worked. That's how it goes when you travel ! ;)
And if you think people lie about the (incredible) amount of language they can speak, let them be, enjoy your day elsewhere instead.

i'd say 11, but no where near fluent for 7 of them, can say phrases that'll get me buy simple situations. decent for 2 of them. 2 not fluent but can keep a conversation if the other party doesn't mind the waiting and stuttering.
main language is english, scored a 32 on act for english and reading, got A with flying color for speech classes, but can't hold a proper conversation nor do most people understand me well. but thats mainly because i don't think about what i say. and im not a FOB, born and raise in america.
