Yes, there is a dub out there. Geneon did a pretty decent job with the three volumes that were released, but too bad it was canceled due to Geneon going out of business. It wasn't the greatest, but it managed to do a decent job. I also noticed that Rena repeats a lot of stuff that she says when talking to Keiichi. Anyways, what are you thoughts?

The voice actor for Keiichi made me laugh, but I've seen worst. 4/5

Didn't see it, don't need to see it to know it'll suck. Dubs usually do, and Geneon's are among the worst.

I accidentaly had my higurashi DVD set to dubs when I watched it the second time.
I nearly clawed my ears out.

It was HIDEOUS,,,

I don't generalize things, so I'll watch either/or (dubs/subs). Keiichi wasn't terrible, but he wasn't quite as enthusiastic as the Japanese voice actor. Rika sounded much too old, her voice sounded a bit haggard to me. It also sounded as if Rika's VA and Keiichi's mothers VA was one in the same, but with a more haggard tone. Rena's VA needed acting lessons, but Mion/Shion('s) VA did an excellent job. I usually give the voice actors a three episode leeway in order for them to actually find the core of their character, after that criticism is up for grabs.

I refuse to watch a dubbed version of any anime. I find the voices to be always be lacking emotion and there always seem to be some amount of editing put into it. Dubs are just not pleasant to my ears. I don't watch dubs and I never plan to either.

When I bought the first DVD I watched it dubbed it sounded ok at first but after I watched the whole DVD subbed it sounded wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. The only time I watch it dubbed is when I don't feel like changing the settings.[\green]

When they start releasing box sets I am going to buy them. I will defiantly look at the dub, however my preference is typically for the Original Japanese with English Subtitles.

Ive never even seen it. I bought the sub as soon as it was available and stuck with that.....thogh I have to admit that the fansubbers did a better job of translating than the pros did....

Subbed boxsets usually get released a few months before the dubs even begin translation.. I bought Comic Party and FMP Second Raid in the same format. .....Samurai Girl too now that I think about it. I used to love dubs but after watching the fansubs for a few years I just cant enjoy them very much. I'll post a site that deals in the subs if you guys like. Maybe start a thread on good places to buy anime?
