The Conduit
Posted 7/22/08 , edited 7/22/08
Nintendo fans rejoice cause now our prayers has been answered in the form of a FPS Wii game called The Conduit developed by High Voltage exclusively for the Wii. It's the kind of game that you could ony see on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Check this article out and look at the screenshots and videos. You'll be blown away by this title.

Finally a game I can focus on wasting my money on, all developers should learn from High Voltage, that the Wii isn't a toy but can also focus on graphics.

The mappings on the enemys are REALLY good, the best on any wii title ever I think, the environments though, I've seen better in MP3, but the controls, from the looks of the video's it looks like this game will control almost like a PC game! Now thats what I'm excited for!

The graphics don't impress me; Brawl had better graphics than this.

To be more precise, I viewed all the videos and screenshots in the link provided and it just seems that the textures are very plain, and the level of detail is still not the best.

As an experienced gamer, however, I know that graphics aren't everything and perhaps the gameplay will make up for it.

The graphics incorporate a bunch of crap people said the Wii couldn't do, such as bump mapping. That = impressive.

And yes, the controls look beast.

I'm glad that the Wii is getting its own unique shooter. The graphics are possibly at the best the Wii can handle, and from the interview they had they said they arent done polishing yet. As for the controls, I'm hoping they'll be similar to Metroids controls. I'm also really psyched and a bit wary about their online play; So far there have only been a handful of Wii games with online and only a few have made it work well. This game will only be successful as long as it brings in FPS gamers.

Because this is a shooter, certain aspects are more important than others to FPS lovers
Important:
- Controls
- Frame rate
- Graphics
- Online

Less Important:
- Story
- Setting
- Music
- Unique Design

Actually, that's slightly wrong, FPS gamers generally don't care so much about graphics as they do Unique Design (See Bioshock or Teamfortress 2) and Music is VERY important. Imagine shooting your gun and it went "pew pew pew"

Music and Sound effects all go into the category sound design. Just like how Frame rate and Graphics go in the same category (It all has to do with visual appearance.)
