ep 20 , i just the Raw just an hour ago, I'm don't know korean but it seems that boy at the end also name yong-ee, he must be the son of danee and soel do (adoptive father of yong-ee & shi-hoo) i remmber they got married before he made himself iljimae... it is also good to know that shi-hoo fianlly know the truth and he helps iljimae but i wonder if yong know he is his half bro, somebody must correct me if i'm wrong

Nono! He's called shit. Yea, shit. Cuz Danee said she wanted him to be the dragon that will emerge from the dung. Since Lee Junki is already called Young aka dragon, that poor boy has to be shit lor. hahaha! You heard Young-ee because Bong Soo said he sounds like Young-ee. That boy repeated Young-ee's catchphrases like "This really spoils my image" etc.

Yes Young knows tat he is his half brother. When Shi Hoo found out the truth, he pretended to fight Iljimae and passed him that green piece of cloth when no one was watching. He told him that he is Lee Won Ho's son at that time. Btw the green piece of cloth has the location of the emperor written down. (Rmb that when Iljimae rushed into the emperor's room, no one was there? And rmb when Shi Hoo found out the truth he saw the Emperor moving to another place to hide and followed him? Think that was only a few seconds.)

I don't think trying to escape typical, predictable happy endings is necessarily a better ending! This ending leaves a distaste, just like a draggy Korean show that doesn' seem interesting after some time. I don't feel the excitement and interest when I watched the show progressed anymore. Instead I could only feel that distaste. So it means it eroded my good feelings about the show.

A happy ending with Iljimae continuing to rob rich tycoons (Maybe the last scene can show Iljimae setting off for another mission with that dramatic music playing), would instead leave the excitement behind. Though people will feel a little dissatisfied that the story has ended, plus that we won't know what other adventures Iljimae will have in the future, it would make people smile and sigh at the end of the show, "Wow...That was a really great show."

i thought he died too but i'm not so sure anymore. because in the original version of the author who made iljimae he doesn't die. :/ i think he didn't cause in the last part..didn't he rob the palace again? and if you think about the beginning of the 1st ep. i don't think he could raid the palace again if he was dead.

Iljimae doesn't die in the end.
There are a couple clues in the episode.
The shoes for one, and the sword the guard picks up to attack Iljimae with was Iljimae's sword (remember the blade is on the other side)

The kid's name, Gaeddong means dog poop and Swedol and Danee slept together on their wedding night.

I thought it was funny they put in the scene with Daeshik and the rope tricks (Lee Junki's role in The King and the Clown lol) and he's dressed in black? hmmm....

I wish they'd tied things up more in the end though.

There are lots of questions left unanswered but maybe that means a sequel?

What I dont understand is how the kid can be 5 years old...4 years later. That confused me a lot, since that would mean Dani was hiding him for 1 year and nobody ever knew? And that she would have to be married about 2 years before, because they slept together on their wedding night, 9 months til birth, and he's 1 year to make the small boy 5 years old 4 years later.

I think it was not Yeong who did not keep the promise. I'd say it was Bong soon who was not yet ready to live with him, since living with him would mean she must resolve her grudge with her step father. I think she left quietly to give herself, her step father and Yeong time and space to contemplate their lives and heal wounds. And maybe, she did not want to burden Yeong with guilt for her feet. If Yeong knew of her location I'd bet he would take care of her as he promised to protect and never let go of her hand forever.

ending was quite open to anyones interpretation, and i didnt like it cause of that. they should have been clear cutted bout ending, either he lives or he dies while director said there were 2 hints that yongee was alive, those hints werent something concrete.. first even edgeless blade can kill (hit someone in the back with metal bat if you want evidence ), and second someone said shoes, but from KST translations scene said "where is she" or smth like that so i assume shoes were meant for her or that expression from which they translated it can be ambiguous(he or she) . also last scene with his robbing palace can be interpreted in many ways (from yongee robbing it, impersonator or just symbolically that the spirit of justice lives on). they should have had additional scene that shows what happened to him.. did someone help him, burried him or he walked out and not just hop 4 years later
