Nekogoroshi-hen... What are your thoughts about it and it's mysteries that maybe linked with the events after the Watanagashi Festival?

When I watched it I thougnt Nekogoroshi-hen was really stupid.
But now that you mention that it could be related to Wantanabushi, I'm interested.
How do you think it might be related?

I figured Wantanabushi happened a long time ago...so the kids' death wasn't related...

Hmm... lets see... First, the mountains.

In previous arcs we see that Takano-san was reported to have been missing after the Watanagashi, while Tomitake-san died because of excessive scratching of the throat. After awhile, Takano-san's body is said to have been found deep in the mountains. This said area in the mountains might have been the quarry in Nekogoroshi-hen in which the body of Takano-san was disposed of. This might explain the mystery man Mion was talking about in Nekogoroshi-hen. That man may have been part of the Yamainu, surveying the area if it would be a good place to dispose of the body.

Another theory why the police eventually found Takano-san's body, is because the quarry itself had been the actual place of disposal. It is somewhat obvious for police to check that area because that area itself had it's own story which someway relates to the Watanagashi Festival.

The three points Keichi said near the end of the episode is still somewhat a mystery. But if my theory of the Yamainu existence there is correct, then this is what may have taken place.

The 3 points given by Keichi:
* The worker that wasn't suppose to be there
- This may have been the Yamainu surveying for a good place to dispose of the body
* The reason why the boy stayed at the quarry till nighttfall
- He may have overheard the plans and was therefore captured
* The mysterious death inside the car on their way back
- The father may have pleaded with the Yamainu and promised not tell anyone as long as the release his child. They agreed, but decided to kill them on their way back.

Well, that's all that I can piece together... Whaddaya think?
