I think for the greater good of the community, we should be discussing what sort of video encoder settings do you use for a picture perfect video. So here goes,

1. What video converter / encoder do you use?
2. What settings do you use to get a smaller file size?
3, What gives the best output on crunchyroll? (considering that crunchyroll re-encodes your videos)

My Answers,
1. I use command line to convert / encode my videos.
2. H.264 at 490 - 590 kbps gives out a pretty decent file size. VP60 / VP61 / VP62 beats H.264 in file size and quality.
3. I have tried simple settings like, AVI container with Xvid / DivX / H.264 codec but so far only H.264 seems to give the best results on crunchyroll. I been meaning to try RAW & MPEG-4 but haven't tried it.

What about you?

I have used SUPER but its not as good as command line utilities. And GUI is YUCK!! One thing that I don't like about SUPER is the amount of time it takes. For some reason its SUPER SLOW. A video, 45 mins long, took 35mins on a DUO CORE 2 where as using command line, with plugins like "Speedx decoder", MEncoder took only 20 mins and quality was far more superior, with a smaller file size.

I use SUPER; it works well when I want to watch anime episodes on my iPod.
