Downloading isn't illegal here yet so I'm not against it, but i like books and find it a lot more entertaining to read them from the pages and not the computer screen.

meh...ppl have to do what they have to do ,to get an education...some women strip others have to pirate books...if they would lower the general price for education the world over then we wouldn't have this problem...also if those teaching were more concerned with imparting knowledge they've gained instead of making their way up the trophaeum of academia then it would make the gain of information for the next generation that much easier.

Its hard to say because I can understand both sides of the story.

Books are getting rather expensive, so I can see why students would download the material. But at the same time, publishers aren't making the money for it so I can understand why they would not be pleased by this.

I prefer that they should photocopy the text in the books. But the students should do it themselves. The teachers have enough on their plates with all their other things.

everything is overpriced nowadays >.> of course some people are going to download what they need instead :\
Posted 7/26/08
publishers need money too!

Meh they can say that to the millions of people who do it a day.
Take that you corporate bastards.

Yup Canada --- But soon to be illegal unfortunately

And ''even'' if it becomes illegal, they can't arrest thousands of people who do it per day.

Questions for discussion:
- So what are your thoughts on this?
I think they should make the books cost less
- Have you done it?
no not really
- Are books just getting too expensive? Do you think that it is a rip off?
Idon't really know
- Do you think text book knowledge be digitalized rather than printed, thus saving production cost and paper?
yes i do think so
- College libraries let students photocopy some pages from the book, so what makes this digital download copy wrong?
nothing it's just and excuse so the colleges to gain more money
- In what ways could this be solved?
they should use an alternative for this so student wouldn't fail and the college wouldn"t get a bad rep
