SPOILER ALERT

The Marvel Comic mini-series "Civil War" played a huge turning point for some of the Marvel heroes, but none more shocking than the death of a comic book legend, Captain America.

In Captain America #25, as we see Cap (alias Steve Rogers) heading towards the courtroom for defying the Superhero Registration Act, a sniper shoots him in the courthouse steps, leaving him dead.

The current issue is on newsstands now.

So thoughts folks? Not my most fav comic but I do find him key for the Marvel world and of course as one of the more sumbolic heroes out there. Is this as big as Superman's death, or the near deaths of Batman to Bane or Wolverine to Magneto? Looking forward to hearing about this storyline change.

I think it was a great move to show give commentary on the state of society.

However he's too good to market so he's obviously going to be resurrected.

Take not that in every series, Marvel makes sure that what happens in one, will not effect the others, so in essence He's still alive in the other Avenger...er... im tired... forget it... wiki it or something....

yeah it's ridiculous that this was even in the news. They'll bring him back to life just like they brought superman back, or just like they brought him back last time he died during 'Onslought'.

And that whole situation pissed me off. How can you kill Captain America with a bullet? I mean really?? This guy has fought with some supremely badass people and a single bullet kills him? Totally killed the end of the civil war. That series was great up until the 7th issue, then it became crap. And now with Cap dead in the epilogue? screw it.

Hopefully planet hulk will be better...

Naaa he aint really dead, like once Marvel killed of superman and then revived it and then like I think they are making a new Captain America movie so I am not sure he would be dead for sure.

i forgot who said it, but someone said he's still alive.
he's just kinda tucked away at the moment.

i mean resurrections wouldn't be too entirely shocking, as it happens all the time in comics.
but it does wonders to help reboot the series, look at the Death Of Superman.

it was on CNN for crying out loud, lol.

Yea i have had such high hopes for civil war and i have loved it....upuntill now because.... its clear thery arent going to keep him dead and it pisses me off (not that cap'n america will be alivew again) but the fact that they are going to bring him back soo why bother killing him period? I much rather would have seen someone die and NOT comeback. Regardless who it was..maybe tony stark that smug SOB
PS- i think spiderman looks like a douchebag
