Filipino's Remakes of Korean Drama

Do you have any opinions about the remakes of Filipino's in Korean Drama's?

I think it depends on how well they play their role as the charcters. I actually watch them eventhough most of them are corny, they are funny.

They always make the drama like more than 80 episodes. Why can't the Philippines do what the other countries do which is make their drama's below 20 episodes. Instead of a new episode everyday it could be a new episode every week.

I so agree with this... I mean most of the filipinos here are just always KONTRA sa gawang pinoy. In my opinion, most filipinos here are just disgrace to our nation. I seriously would watch the remakes. I think most of the artist play the roles really well.

So yeah, If you don't like it just don't bother watching it and posting bad feedbacks without even seeing a single episode!

I think it's better than dubbing an entire drama ..

I've never watched any Filipino remakes of a kdrama before.. well I did watch part of an episode of My Lovely Sam Soon, the other day. Lmao, they even kept the name xD. I thought the main character was actually kinda prettier than the one in the K-version though haha Unfortunately I didn't understand a single word of it.. my mom would just translate it to me whenever she felt like doing so.

I HAVE watched part of the America's Ugly Betty, which is based on some Latin-American Betty la fea .. I'd sure like to watch the original hehe.

i dont oppose the IDEA of remakes bcos honestly, if other countries do it, then why cant we?

besides, the number of Philippine-made shows still outweighs the number of remakes on PhilTV (which is like only 2?) start worrying if your tv is flooded with nothing but remakes.

now how you feel about the actual approach or the adjustments made in the remake is another thing and completely subjective.

i just hope that Filipinos will try to be open-minded...

and thats our nation really needs today...

OPEN-MINDED citizens and those who LOVE their country's talents...

that will lead to being MATURE.... not IMMATURE...

all of this remake is just for money i think... sad to say but they don't care about what others will say as long as there pockets are full they don't care if it's a copy or not... Filipinos have many good actors and actress but script writers few... another thing most of our original dramas are so heavy and predictable the main character is always weak and always getting beaten physically and emotionally which is frustrating at least on my part. they don't know how to mix it up. It's always pure drama. Maybe thats why we keep on remaking other dramas...
well thats only my opinion...

No. I hate it I hate it I hate it.

1. Kdramas, IMO, are draggy enough as it is. Filipino remakes make it 10x draggier by adding 50 more episodes to a series.
2. K actors fit the image portrayed by their characters. F actors kinda look weird imitating them (ie Kim Chiu in My Girl, Regine Velasquez in Kim Sam Soon, etc)
3. The hot k actors are irreplaceable (Lee Jun Ki, he's one and only. No one can compare :] )
4. Kdramas incorporate their culture in their plot, characters, conflicts, settings, etc. F drama remakes, or any remakes for that matter, can never perfectly follow that sense of culture in their series (ie Meteor Garden vs. Hana Yori Dango)

hahahaha damn man i hell a agree!!!!!! ^-^ iono i'm not a Filipino hatter and all but i can't lie i do have a issue with Filipino coping koreans it's like Americans coping Japanese the more u try to cop y it the more they suck! it's! i hate it too!! dang this chick is the best lol! wrote it in PERFECT words! lol!
and yeah no offense and all but Filipino AREN'T ASIANS! omg i live in a area where Filipino have so much Asian pride when they're not asians! the onli reason why they think they r Asians r cuz they live near the Asian countries! but it's totaly a different island! FILIPINOS R CONSIDERED PACIFIC ISLANDERS!!!!!!!!!! NOT ASIANS!!!!!!!! sorri if it sounds like i'm hatting on anyone but damn all i hear everyday at school is asian pride! i hate it! it's dumb! but yeah u shouldn't copy but make ur own!!

lol!XD Sorry, but... hahahaha
Technically, Philippines is not near Asia, but is in South-East Asia. FiIipinos are considered Pacific Islanders since Philippines is made up of different islands and is an archipelagic country.

Also remakes from Korean Dramas are not fully based on the story. We also do not copy the culture or wannabees okay? We make it our own..

I'm sorry but you really sounded like you were a racist and is discriminating Filipinos. I really can't stand judgmental people.
---------------------------------
Come to think of it, Japan is also an Island Country. They can also be called Pacific Islanders...
---------
Btw, what countries do you think can be considered as asian countries? Just asking if you have studied or ever read a book about Asia before..

I have no idea at all, I haven't seen even Korean dramas because I left the Philippines last 2001, I heard from friends that it was a trend back home to watch Korean dramas.
Remakes are OK, if the Korean didn't like the idea of us Pinoys doing remakes then they wouldn't license or even allow their dramas to be shown overseas. In the end or at the end of the day, it's all about money making and earning.
