They license it because they want the money and want to force YOU to give them that money. :K

It's because they actually want money for their work. You can also search other sites for them or buy the DVDs.

Licensing to raise popularity, popularity increases money, money increases the chances of a second season. If Dragonball Z had stayed in Japan, sure it would've been popular, but it would have not been world renowned like it is now. I'll admit I watched it on Cartoon Network 10 years ago.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-18646/Licensing.html

Use this thread please.
There is a search button at the top right.

I don't care if this offends anybody, but the people who whine about licensing are just plain stupid.
Even if an anime is licensed on Crunchyroll, there are other methods to obtain anime.

That is why there is such thing as a search called Google.
Use it.

You can easily buy the dvd's to support to the community, but I guess it too hard for people who can't even find an anime online.

you're not a fan of anime then, if you have that train of thought.

making anime is not free nor is it cheap, buying dvd's and licensing them helps raise money for future animes.

unless you want anime to stop do not ask such a thoughtless question.
