Itou arc by far. I mean come on... he pulled a chopper!! And also, Hijikata as otaku was pure win. I must say, out of all the serious and non-serious arcs of Gintama this had the best ending aswell, how all of the Shinsengumi kind of respected Itou at the end.

i dont care too much for the arcs on the Shinsengumi, they already appear alot anyway
my favorites are the yoshiwara arc for the epic fight and introduction of tsukuyo
and yagyuu arc for the comedy and introduction of kyuubei, oh yeah and shinpachi finally showed some improvement, he is after all gin's partial apprentice, at least he is supposed to be

well, beforeee i woulda voted for the benizukura arc, but now i'm in love with the (forgot the name) underground city arc. Tsukiyo appeared, Kagura owned, and i got to see Kamui animated w/ a voice! O_O That arc was just full of goodies xD

1. Yoshiwara arc - simply the best in the series to date
2. Benizakura arc - showed us how awesome Gintoki is.
3. Yagui arc - epic showdown in the bathroom and shinpachi got to be a bad ass for a brief moment.
honorable mention - the latest arc, gonna call it the otaku war arc (maybe the toshi arc) because every episode i laughed my ass off.

i would say YOSHIWARA
....it's most exciting. new setting, new chara's, Kagura kicking ass, Kamui, Tsukuyo...
finally introducing what might look like a central-story to Gintama.
but the arc dragged on for too long....
Itou is the best-directed. good pacing, best animated arc out of all i think.
Benizakura is the most well-rounded (action, story, chara development, friendship, funny & touching moments). proba the reason why it's choosen for the Gintama Movie
the Mother arc, most heart-warming.
Mitsuba arc, most touching, but because of the boys (Okita, Hijikata, & Gin-san being such a cutie as usual).
i really don't like Mitsuba herself...maybe because Hijikata likes her >.> (jealous)....think Hijikata deserves someone better (like Tsukuyo...) though. not saying they make a good couple, they don't. but Tsukuyo is a far better female chara. i hate whiny, weak, brainless & useless female chara's

I'm catching up on the anime. So far I'm on epi 144 but mine is either the one where Kondo, Sogo and their boss try to kill the guys that go around the boss' daughter [haha so reminds me of me and my dad xDD but mine is better ^^] and Hijikata stops or helps them.
OR
I love the Mitsuba arc. It's so emotional and it touched me about the relationship between Hijikata and Sougo.
But my fav would so far me the Itou one. HAHA Hijikata was so helpless xDD.

ARGH, cannot choose...
The Ryuugujou Arc was ridiculously funny (come on, Zura-ossan and Gin-ossan? HILARIOUS!) and the Yoshiwara Arc was pretty cool too, because we got to meet Tsukuyo and Kamui. Also Kagura was amazing and 100% badass *.*
I also liked the Benizakura Arc when Gintoki finally kicked some ass. Gintoki and Katsura make one hell of a great team <3

Yoshiwara was the best arc imo with the Yagyu Kyuubei arc being the funniest.

It HAS to be the Itou arc!  Otaku Hijikata was so FUNNY! 8D And awesome. It's because of that arc that I Hijikata is my favorite character. Poor Itou, though! D8 I just wanna slap his mom. e_e |
