The Lost Ones
By: JadeMistWolf Oct. 29, 2007
Take a moment of your time one night to stop and listen to the sounds of night outside. What do you hear? An owl or two, maybe the leaves rustling in the breeze, and maybe some crickets? But also focus on what you don’t hear, the beautiful cries of the wolf, these powerful creatures used to flourish all through out the land their cries echoing in the crisp cold breeze, their paw prints in the snow. But people began to hunt them and punished them nearly to extinction.

If you ever visit a zoo or biodome and they have wolves, what do you think of them. If you think they are beautiful, you haven’t seen anything! These creatures are so beautiful in the wild. Their further sun shining down on their soft silky fur, their eyes sparkling in the moon light but still, all man wanted to do is hunt these animals. The way I described them is a small fragment of what they looked like in the wild. Beautiful isn’t it? In the wild wolves represent freedom, but do the wolves in captivity look very happy. I think they could be happier, they look like they are feeling like they can never be allowed to run free in a long endless range.

Humans have named wolves as horrible killers ever thirsty for blood. But they actually are just trying to survive. Wolves are kind and caring creatures. Some people hunted wolves because they believed wolves were messengers of death from hell. But they are terribly mistaken. Now that wolves are almost gone people care.

Poets, artists, story writers, and other creators of different forms of arts or writing use wolves some times as the main object in their work. I don’t know if you care but their only are 230 thousand or million wolves left in the world. It seems like a large number but when you look at how many there used to be it seems like there are almost none. Look at the concept a little closer. There are organizations in the world that are trying to help save wolves.

Wolves might have always killed our livestock and seemed ferocious. They were pretty scary at night especially the sound, the encounter, the way their eyes glow in the dark. It is frightening. Or at least their growls were. Their furs kept us warm, but a lot of people over did it. Wolves are misunderstood, they are not monsters at all. They were and technically still are our companions. People are and were cruel. I know you probably are thinking “why should we help them if we can’t even help ourselves?” but if we do help them we can prove that we are capable of helping ourselves. Should people have ever hunted wolves for entertainment? I think not. They wouldn’t like it if they were the ones being hunted now would they?

Do you have a pet? If so, do you love it? If you do, would you hate the person who might have killed it? If you said yes to all of these questions you are passionate about animals. I want to speak to dog owners right now. Dogs as you probably already know, are descendants from wolves. So when a person kills a wolf they are killing a dog.

I’ve now told you all I can. I am doing the best I can to help save wolves too. I think everyone trying to save the innocent lives of wolves would really appreciate your help. If I haven’t persuaded you to help save wolves with this persuasive piece the I have failed not only for myself but the millions of lost ones and those out there who need our help. So please do what you can and remember this final thing I have to say “would you let them shoot a dog?”

wolves aren't blood thirsty. they've hunted prey since the beginning of their existence. its only humans words that change all that. some think that they are despicable and cruel. when they cannot even see who they are who sin every single day in their lives.

i hate poachers. yes, their fur keep us warm. but can't other fibers that don't use animal fur, keep us warm, too. so any fur coat, to me, is meaningless and stupid. just plain wrong. wolves or any animal does not attack unless they are provoked. wolves are not scary. people think they are. i think and always have thought, that they are beautiful creatures.

wolves only hunt farmers' livestock because they are losing their prey due to human hunting. so, can we blame them? wolves are part of the dog family. they are wild than their domestic cousins, but they are the same. they have the blood of the dog you pet, feed and love as your pet.

predators are always looked at as menacing and blood-thirsty, but in truth they are not. they hunt to live. just like when we eat meat to live. countless people slaughter animals everyday just to make it end up in your plate. then you eat it. its meat. the same as the ones wolves and other predators eat. and yet people have all the guts they have to say that wolves are blood-thirsty ehn they themselves eat meat?

wolves are beautiful. their eyes illuminate the moon's light and their howls are the song and spirit of the night. and they give balance to this world. do not let them disappear.

I think wolves are beautiful awesome creatures that have a right to live as any other creature including humans!! There is no reason to kill them. They are lovely beasts of the night with songs in their hearts and intimacy in their eyes.

One by one they kill wolves they never know if ts the last. Their fur keep us warm but you know what it really was? a soul of a kind hurt that sunk. What if you were hunted down? How will you feel? Befor you kill an animal ask your self at least one of my things I am going to write.

"Why am I doing this?" "Who am I tricking?" "Is this doing any good?" "What did the animals ever do to me?" "How will this helo someone? there are people who love animals and when they hear are they going to hunt me down?" "What does death feel like?" "How is it to feel to die?" "will the animal's family/pack feel sad?" "will this bring any good? What if it leads me to death?" These are the things i think befor I even kill fly. Even the smallest thing.
