Its not 2nd season.
Its a remake.
Composed of 24 or 26 episodes.

Nonsense!

The second Haruhi series should primarily cover the events of "the disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" novel.
I'm assuming your mistake comes from Kyoto Animation's mentioning that they wanted to treat the new Haruhi season as a completely new project, rather than merely a sequel, in order to work on the sequel with extra enthousiasm.
This statement was mistranslated by someone on a popular anime forum and caused somewhat of a panic a while back, because fans were afraid that the second season of Haruhi would be cancelled.

Why the hell would you think KyoAni is stupid enough to do a remake, anyway? There's more than enough source material in the original novels for about another 50 episodes. There's no point in redoing a series that is only 2 years old, when there's nothing in the first season that would need fixing and when there's plenty of material that still needs to be animated.

I'm not particularly bothered by you thinking it'll be a remake. What DOES bother me is that you're mentioning it as if it were a fact.
I know that Crunchyroll is full of rumours and outright nonsense, but i still get annoyed whenever someone posts stuff without fact-checking it. Personally, i try to make sure i don't give anybody information that could prove to be incorrect.

Where are you getting that idea? Can't i even protest about something i consider nonsensical ?
I think it's you who's overreacting.

Fair enough, although i absolutely guarantee that you're wrong.

Presently, no final details are known about the second Haruhi season, but preliminary art that was featured in the July 2008 issue of Newtype pretty clearly indicates that season 2 will probably adapt "the disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya".
Even without the Newtype art, it takes only the most basic of common sense to figure out that there's no way KyoAni would do a remake. Remakes are rare to begin with and tend to occur for one of three reasons: 1. the original was (more than 10 years) old and a new version was produced to appeal to a new generation of anime watchers, or 2. the existing version had serious problems that needed to be corrected, or 3. a condensed movie version was made to cash in on the franchise's popularity.
An example of 1. would be the various versions of Tetsuwan Atom and Tetsujin 28. An example of 2. would be Toei's Kanon 2002, which had extremely poor quality animation and was unable to fully adapt the game story within only 13 episodes, which led KyoAni to produce an updated version (Kanon 2006). An example of 3. is The Gurren Lagann movies, which Gainax is producing to cash in on the popularity of the TV series.
None of these points apply to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. There is no logical reason for KyoAni to remake a series they themselves produced only 2 years ago, when just about every Haruhi fan in existance wants to know what happens NEXT.
Trust me, KyoAni isn't stupid and knows that there's a lot more money to be made from adapting the rest of the Haruhi novels than there is by revisiting what they've already produced.

Takashi, not that I don't beleive you should have your own opinion and all, which is perfectly fine, but, just because he sports a good arguement doesn't mean you have to say he was over-reacting. Yes, it was a bit lenghty, but he does have a good point. Either way, I don't care what anyone beleives or not, whatever happens, happens, and no one's opinion is going to change that.

The season will be probably aired in 2009 or December this year since Clannad:AS will air this October. It really just depends on how many episodes Clannad:AS have. I can't wait...

First of all,I only got that information, which is you don't have to say all about the information you have.
From what i say,it was a remake, and someone poped out like "OMFG! What an Idiot you are!"
From what Iv'e said isn't the full info that i have, then someone appeared...

That's the incorrect translation i was referring to earlier. It seems to have caused quite a lot of confusion.
What was actualy said was that they wanted to approach the second season as if it were an entirely new project instead of merely a season 2, in order to work on the Haruhi sequel with extra determination and enthousiasm.

Don't worry, everything i've seen thusfar points to the second Haruhi season adapting the "the disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" novel.
