now your story's beginning to be more shounen-like. the feel is decidedly different from your last two episodes, possibly from Susumu's slightly different persona. on a less positive note, it seemed that nothing important happened, making it more of a filler episode. you did give more details about the characters, though.
i wasn't particularly impresses, but it's decent enough.

I apoligize about nothing happening. There were simply too many loose ends that needed to be tied up, so in a sense, it is part three of the first plot, not an episode in its own right.

Edit: What about the story seems more shounen-like? I think it might be useful for me to know.

i meant chtonia.

I'm not sure what this answer means. My best guess is that you read my question as "Which story feels more shonen-like?" The question is actually: "What part of episode three made Chthonia seem shonen-like?" I'm not doubting you at all, because, although it is more than simply shonen, Chthonia is definitely part shonen.

ah, here comes the other superpower character. pretty good character description, although that is to be expected since the whole chapter is about him. it's tied in pretty well to the other chapters too. it looks like the angst is there to stay.
regarding the shounen thing, the whole story as a whole feels like shounen. you just showed shounen staples: awakening (when the lead realizes his power), a "tutor" (someone who knows more about the supernatural things happening than the lead does) and overcoming (the lead winning against internal conflict). of course it's more mature than the average shounen, so it might as well be seinen (which is, like, mature shounen.)

"Evil? I'm... evil?" *laughs* "You can only say that because you're on the weaker side. If you knew the exhilaration that power grants..." -- Z, "Zombie"

Thank you. What did you think about the scene where Iwao hallucinated murdering his classmates? The main problem with that is making sure it is crystal clear that it was a hallucination and making it easy to guess which events were real and which weren't.

Also, what does the quote at the bottom have to do with anything?

the quote is like a "i'm signing off" expression. kinda like a period to a sentence.
well, i didn't really think too much of it. i had already assumed from the start that it was not real. i think you have made that clear enough.

great. it's starting to pick up pace. i especially love the idea of madness being an enemy (it's so obvious that i like soul eater). i'm guessing katashi and iwao are protagonists, since an enemy formidable enough has presented himself.
i did find it a bit weird that iwao did not attack kaijin on the onset, seeing as how he did something so horrible to him in the past. his attacking kaijin would better reflect his personality.

How about other abstract concepts other than madness being characters, or more specific forms of madness being characters? If you like those too, you're in luck.

I'm sorry for not understanding, but what do you mean by your third sentence? Why does the presence of a formidable enemy mean that Katashi and Iwao are protagonists?

The reason Iwao did not attack Kaijin is because he had an excuse not to. He was desperately afraid of Kaijin, so he would avoid a fight with him unless he felt somehow obligated to.

well, actually, i already have characters based on abstract concepts. i have an anime series in mind which focuses on humans being able to use powers that are within the realm of their imagination. so, definitely, i'd like to see more of them, as it might give me some ideas. and who doesn't want to see a human embodiment of violence and mischief?

i'm sorry, that 'since' should be 'also'.

i see. i think you should insert more bits of foreshadowing there. his build-up was that of an arrogant and fiercely loyal character.

Sure; just be sure that they are your own ideas. I am frightened of the possibility that my ideas will be stolen before I can use them in the real world.

Not really. That aspect of his personality never comes into play as far as I have planned, and I don't have time to mention it. Also, many of the details I state about characters I think of after the fact. For example, I never consciously considered why he wouldn't attack Kaijin until you asked me, but the answer was supplied to me by my unconscious mind immediately after I considered it. Maybe it's just self-flattery, but I believe that I am pulling this story out of depths of my mind.

unfortunately, we don't have the same insight into your story; well, at least it's clear now.. oh, and of course they'de be my own ideas. i would be unable to make a story out of someone else's unless given express permission to mutilate it. :)
