In my opinion Avatar is NOT an anime, why is because it was made in america by americans not in japan, BUT the show avatar does have pretty much if not all Asian influences.

Although I agree with you, this dictionary definition is far from accurate.
"focuses on futuristic themes and robotlike characters"
that rules out more than half of all anime

Do you know what "focus" is? I doubt it
And to make you look more idiotic, I will now show an offical dictionary:
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/anime
a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes

So I'm guessing a lot of these anime series about school life, etc.. are not really anime.
Have fun living by the dictionary, douche. (Oh wait, doesn't douche actually mean shower in French and I just called you a..?)

It doesn't have any elements of anime, just the art style the American copied off Japanese.

I do. But that definition makes it clear that all anime focuses on fantasy/future. It does not say sometimes.
Focus also implies that its the main thing, whereas many shoujo series do not have any fantastic/futuristic themes AT ALL.

you can keep different definitions for focus, and you'll still be wrong.
