This morn on WWE.com it was announced that on January 1, 2010, Shane McMahon who headed the WWE media end and had other roles on and off camera will resign his post in WWE. Still no word on what he'll move onto next but he's the second McMahon to leave WWE after Linda left to run for Senate.
No replacement for Shane has been announced since it was a shocking post, but it now leaves Stephanie and HHH now likely to solely adopt the WWE in the future, leaving that future in much concern as she's already head writer.

-The other talent related leak is that former WWE star Bill Goldberg and current WWE Diva Maria are among the cast taping now for March 2010 airing of Donald Trump's next Celebrity Apprentice. This also leads to more likely WWE/Donald cross promoting and why Maria got split away from Dolph suddenly [and I was so hoping she'd turn heel instead to form a new heel power couple with Dolph...], so she's likely off TV until tapings are done.--

Some quick WWE news notes leading up to another busy PPV weekend going head to head with Saturday's UFC MMA PPV to boot. Andy will be back to aid with news here too as we're both away for various days this weekend.

-Lance Cade, who was let go after a seizure last year, has been re-signed by the WWE. No word yet on when he'll return to TV. Meanwhile if you heard, Nigel McGuiness was not signed by the WWE, citing his past concussions in ROH. He signed with TNA instead. This doesn't affect fellow ROH star Bryan Danielson who is going to start first in FCW, where Edge has visited as he continues rehab that will still take a few more months, with a 2010 return at earliest. The final note on signings is that Booker T is going to sit out of TNA until his contract runs out, while he and the WWE continue talks about re-signing him.

-One other note is from JR's health status. On Jim Ross' recent blog he thanked fans for concerns as he starts treatment in combatting his 3rd bout with Bell's Palsy. He's out for the PPV on Sunday and he's not sure yet of a return date, but can still speak well so let's wish him the best for his speedy recovery.

Let's also hope for a decent PPV as changes came of late due to guys/gals being in Vince's doghouse for critiquing dress code[CM Punk] to being green [Escobar, McIntyre] to simply gaining a bit too much weight[Mickie James]. Let's hope this Vince/Taker subtle feud isn't leading to Vince taking a Board director idea up on being the one to end the Mania streak too!
So here's hoping we get some positives from the PPV instead! Take care!

http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/120257/Schedule-For-WWE-Stars-Appearing-On-Are-You-Smarter-Than-A-5th-Grader.htm

Michelle McCool, The Miz, John Morrison, MVP, and Big Show Play the Fast-Paced Game For Charity

Tune-in Starting November 2nd 2009 (Check your local listings)

What: Comedian Jeff Foxworthy hosts the all-new half-hour version of "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" The fast-paced game show, where knowledge of grade-school level questions is tested, welcomes the Superstars of the WWE. Starting on November 2nd, WWE Susperstar week kicks off on the new nationally syndicated "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" The Miz, John Morrison, MVP, Michelle McCool and Big Show play the game for charity. Check your local listings for exact air time.

From Mark Burnett & ZOO Productions "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?" is an atypical game show that measures adults' lack of knowledge – as revealed by how much they've forgotten since grammar school. Grownups find themselves in a classroom setting, revisiting their youth, as they tackle subjects they were taught years ago ranging from art to geography and math to social studies. In "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?", however, the players are not alone and there is a way for contestants to "cheat" in this classroom. The adults have the opportunity to get some help – in the form of elementary advice from real 5th graders who always seem to know more than the contestants.

Tune-in Details: All-new episodes of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" now air 5-days-a-week in syndication [Check Local Listings]

Monday, Nov. 2 - THE MIZ (playing for Make-A-Wish Foundation)
Tuesday, Nov. 3 – JOHN MORRISON (Make-A-Wish Foundation)
Wednesday, Nov. 4 – MICHELLE MC COOL (Make-A-Wish Foundation)

http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/120254/Mickie-James-Set-To-Start-Country-Music-Career.htm

AllAccess.com has news that WWE star Mickie James has signed with Nashville based management agents James and Sherry Massaro of Skyline Management Group, who specialize in the development of country music stars. James also signed with Absolute Publicity to handle her public relations. The article says that James will announce her intentions in the next few weeks.

Thats all for now .Either myself or tirgunkwan will be back with updates again soon.

Yep even when I return to norm, andy will still be aiding/posting here!

-Yes I said it's rough times overall, not just in WWE not pushing many new talent on top once you see the Smackdown Main Event too this week that offers little change on top, but TNA using the WCW strategy, signing former WWE talents Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan, with maybe Ric Flair to come. Again keep cool folks, watch the language and invest in stress balls instead for when WWE/wrestling gets you down!

-Meanwhile due to uncertainty of Jim Ross to return from his latest Bell's Palsy bout, WWE changed the announcing teams starting this week. Matt Striker moves to Smackdown to work with a honeymoon returning Todd Grisham, while from their developmental system in FCW, ECW will now have Rock look-a-like Bryan Saxton join Josh Mathews on commentary.

-Finally John Cena's cut from the PPV is fine and was glued during the match due to Commision regulations of the building, the new PG rating and to not give more negative fodder for Senate opponents of Linda McMahon who used past WWE videos like Katie Vick against her, despite the fact she has little to no input in angles.

So take a deep breath folks and see you next time with more BEHIND THE SCENES news!

-More staff changes as ECW replaces Courtney Taylor who was a backstage interviewer with Savannah. Taylor is being sent back to FCW after taking a paid vacation just days after being placed on ECW.

-Future November RAW hosts coming up are the Osbournes, in England boxer Ricky Hatton, and possibly Roddy Piper, who in interviews also hopes to do 1 more major WWE match too.

-Speaking of ressurections, the Hogan signing to TNA had a non-reaction overall in WWE, with most like Vickie Guerrero saying he'll doom TNA/Spike TV like he did to WCW. Speaking of such, while talks with Flair are starting at least since Spike TV has rights now to the Aussie reality TV show Flair and Hogan are doing on the tour still to happen, now various older talent who were in WWE are rumoured. In no particular order: RVD, Steve Austin [who isn't happy with the WWE film life], DDP, the Nasty Boys and Brutus Beefcake. Jeff Hardy could still be considered too if his legal matters are sorted.

Yes spooky news indeed this week so hang in there and be back next time for more BEHIND THE SCENES news!

Here's a few notes stemming from the WWE Quarterly Meetings with investors.

-Overall income is decent with business areas like PPVs down but TV revenue up. The big change due to Breaking Point [submission main events] will be that it will be dropped, WWE likely scaling back to 13 PPVs a year, but possibly expect a price increase per PPV.

-RAW hosts coming up are boxer Ricky Hatton in England [originally they wanted actor Ricky Gervais but that fell through] and likely Roddy Piper in NYC, and add today comedian Dennis Miller who will host on Dec. 14 in Texas the 3 hour Slammy Awards centered RAW. All 3 brands will thus be on hand.

-Interesting taping notes as WWE will after the current Euro trip ready to do the Tribute for the troops show overseas while doing advance tapings of Smackdown and ECW on the Sunday head to head to the TNA PPV Final Resolution.

Have a great weekend everyone!

As usual please refer to my earlier posts for references as I still use those same ones during my Wiinet use for now.

-Linda McMahon has officially severed ties to WWE as she runs for US Senate to lessen opposition attacks using the WWE to disprove her qualifications,

-The WWE.com story of Jamie Noble retiring due to the Sheamud angle/attack looks like an out for WWE to have Noble work as a full time agent/producer behind the scenes.

-WWE actually contacted late night host Jimmy Fallon to host at MSG in NY next week but could not make schedules work. So Piper is set but was the backup plan. Also former WWE talent Stacy Keibler contacted them to host RAW coming to Baltimore but WWE has yet to return calls. At the moment no new hosts are set yet [ADDED CORRECTION: though like mentioned last update, one DECEMBER host is set with Dennis Miller] but as mentioned in the past by Stephanie McMahon they plan RAW hosting to last at least into 2010 at least leading into Mania.

Take care!

Here's your weekend tidbits:

-This coming RAW in NY hosted by Roddy Piper will also debut a new opening video with the song by Nickelback.

-Sean Mooney, a former announcer in the WWF days got an interview but no word if WWE is rehiring him just yet.

-Rey Mysterio's friend Konnan [you'll recall him from WCW] in an interview noted Rey will need soon time off for major knee surgery to repair badly both damaged PCL and ACL in his knee. Meanwhile of those still on the mend, Edge is coming along and isn't using the cane now but is still only due to return in early 2010 at best. Maryse on the other hand has resumed training and hopes to return to the ring ASAP this year.

Have a swell weekend; I'm away for it so Andy1 as always will also post any big news if it happens. Ta!

Here's the recap of news post-RAW tonight:

-Jim Ross is still 3-4 months away from returning to announce as posted via his blog. He's getting better and says the recently resigned Sean Mooney is NOT being brought in to replace him.

-Other injury news asked on the wall or to reiterate:

Jeff Hardy again will NOT be resigned by WWE due to his recent legal matters over drugs.

Edge is due back in early 2010 before Mania for now.

Maryse is due back anyday now after she completes rehab in ring.
Mickie James is working with a sore leg.

The Great Khali is not due back from surgery yet, no set date for return is set yet.

Jamie Noble is storyline and officially retired to concentrate on being a WWE agent/producer backstage.

Rey Mysterio will need knee surgery after Survivor Series so expect some angle to allow it on the PPV match with Batista.

-UFC [the big Mixed Martial Arts company] has some WWE crossover news. Former WWE star and current UFC Heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar is battling mono and an intestinal complication that is not life-threatening but might be a threat to his MMA career. Meanwhile also on the weekend, Shane McMahon who is gone from WWE by year's end and recently released head of WWE Canada Carl DeMarco met with UFC Head Dana White, no word yet on what was discussed.

-As you saw/heard tonight, WWE and USA Network will continue RAW through 2014. This doesn't mean Vince's plan for a WWE Network is done as NBC Universal has shown interest.

Well after Survivor Series is another 3 hour RAW hosted by former talent and Minnesota Governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura in a Thanksgiving themed Show with all 3 brands present. Enjoy the PPV and check the LIVE REPORT thread for PPV updates and match results!

Good stuff! Here's some added news:

-Toronto, Ontario, Canada's Rogers Centre [formerly Skydome when it hosted previous Manias] is leading bids for hosting Wrestlemania 27. Miami, Atlanta and Indianapolis in the USA are also among those bidding, with a winner likely announced soon.

-Ring of Honor talents the Briscoe Brothers [not the HOF team but a young, good tag] and Becky Bayless got Smackdown/ECW tryouts this week.

-Bit of rumour still floating around whether Sid Justice will return to WWE or not. Booker T meanwhile awaits his TNA contract to expire to talk any possible return.

LATE NEWS POINT-The Rock whom we saw on the excellent video promo for 10 years of Smackdown is doing interviews for new kids Disney movies like Planet 51 and Tooth Fairy. He said he got a great relationship with Vince McMahon and wants to host a RAW and do more. With WWE now rated PG he might be open again to more WWE involvement co-existing with his acying career.

The plan at the moment is for the Rock to host RAW in January [where the Rumble PPV is leading to the Road to Mania] AND maybe a program leading to more. The obvious choice would be Rock/Cena at Mania 26 if the Taker feud tease is just that. Stay tuned on that developing story.

Take care!

-December 19th at 9PM EST on NBC will be the annual hour long Tribute to the Troops show.

-Lauren Mayhew and the WWE had an amicable parting over her ECW announcing spot. She was on a short term deal to replace retired Lilian Garcia but couldn't come to terms on a new deal. Tony Chimel and Justin Roberts stay as the main announcers for Smackdown/ECW and RAW respectively, though they still got longtime announcer Howard Finkel around not active.

-Shane McMahon's future departure by year's end is rumoured to lead to him taking his bought out shares in WWE being put into a minority ownership of Mixed Martial Arts company UFC. He met their President Dana White recently who hinted something, maybe handlings of International promoting which he did successfully for WWE.

-Injury updates: Rey and Big Show had their surgeries but both are doing procedures to avoid missing Mania cheques. Big Show hopes to rush back for the upcoming TLC PPV, while Rey is aiming for a Royal Rumble return, then having the more serious surgery post-Mania that's badly needed. Both had knee surgeries.

Finally to those celebrating the US Thanksgiving to have a good one!

Some quick notes as the WWE heads overseas to tape the annual Tribute to the Troops show to air on NBC on Dec.19.

-Former Playboy model Jillian Beyor signed with FCW, to be trained and brought up in the future like Vance Archer [Lance Hoyt] recently and a new tag team in Trent Barretta and Caylen Croft appearing on ECW this coming week.

-Rey will work with Batista in an upcoming Smackdown taping in a Last Man Standing match, so looks like Rey's delaying the surgery a bit. Big Show had his done already and is working, saying he's fine but might need more post-TLC PPV. Meanwhile the Miz and John Morrison are working through minor injuries but for now won't need time off. Cena is also adjusting house show time to start filming on a new movie but won't miss TV time.

-WWE and Titan Publishing will start a new comic book commencing in March 2010 called WWE Heroes starring the WWE talent. Hopefully better than past ones like for Chyna and Taker which I've [sadly] witnessed...

Finally to answer some group wall questions, there are no plans to bring back Mr. Kennedy BUT with how CM Punk did tne DVD angle, there might be a chance that they sign back Jeff Hardy pending his drug court case and whether he serves jailtime.

Take care!

Let's do a little WWE Night Court, minus Phoenix Wright sadly.

-Jeff Hardy hearing whether his drug case gets heard in front of a grand jury got pushed for a 2nd time to January 28th 2010, so any chance of return is further pushed back [but do note at the moment he has no WWE contract as it ran out prior to the arrest]. Meanwhile the WWE vs. Ultimate Warrior defamation suit is now closed, while the demise of Deep South Wrestling as a developmental territory got pushed to 2010.

-SyFy and the ECW contract runs out by year's end and due to declining ratings, ECW could be folded completely. SyFy and WWE are exploring somehow keeping the timeslot but changing the show. WWE pitched a magazine show that got shot down. The current pitch is to rename the show and have it focus solely on new talent coming up from FCW, meaning vets like Christian, Shelton, Regal and others would either be moved to RAW or Smackdown or released. Stay tuned on that outcome.

-Meanwhile Vince is looking to further change the look of Smackdown in light of the appeal of adding guest hosts on the flagship show, RAW [Did I just type that...is everyone here done with guest hosts?!].

Have a good weekend everyone!
