I'll add a bit more to today's news but first best wishes for a successful recovery to former WWE talent Umaga who was rushed to hospital after bleeding and difficulty breathing at home while asleep. He had just got back from Hulk Hogan's Aussie Tour.

-The Cuban/Orton feud stems from Survivor Series 2003 and an RKO on the National Basketball League's Dallas Mavericks owner. In said interviews, they're booking a 6 man tag for RAW between Legacy and Cuban if he can find teammates from his Mavs or the National Football League's Dallas Cowboys. With the players in midseason action I doubt their participation but then again Cuban is a known rebel owner so maybe Dirk Novitski or Tony Romo could make their in-ring debut so tune in to see.

-While some of the roster from all 3 shows wraps up the Tribute to the Troops shows, the rest are still in the USA doing house shows as 1 mixed group.

Finally remember the Slammy Awards with host Dennis Miller return on the 3 hour tri-brand RAW on the 14th of December. Ta!

Just some quick notes before RAW with a potentially ring-trained NBA owner Mark Cuban tonight! Shawn Marion of Cuban's Dallas Mavericks will be at RAW as will other players, again teasing that the owner and players will participate in a 6 man tag tonight vs. Legacy. The DX Little Court sketch is going back and forth to air tonight or delay since after the TLC PPV there's a whopping 7 weeks to the Royal Rumble, the 3 hour Slammy Awards show hosted by Dennis Miller next week and maybe another 3 hour RAW on Jan.4 to go head to head with TNA Impact and the big college football Fiesta Bowl amongst a busy January.

-The January 18th RAW guest hosts have been announced as actors Jon Heder [Napoleon Dynamite] and Don Johnson [Miami Vice] promoting a new movie they're in. The Rock for now due to promotional work is scheduled for February 2010 but WWE is pushing for him for Jan.4.

-WWE Studios has on schedule films like a drama called Big Red about a kid's English project during the 1960's, a remake of Chuck Norris films and that Undertaker Origins film which is now a Western. No other WWE talent has been cast yet.

-Koslov got his official US citizenship today.

-The Marine 2 starring Ted Dibiase Jr. is being promoted with some good DVD reviews so far, release coming Dec.29th so keep an eye out for more Orton/Ted angles.

-With the crew in Texas for tapings, most will attend Umaga's Houston funeral tentatively scheduled for this Wednesday.

-Finally quickly is Rey and Big Show are still working limited schedules this month on TV [no house shows] and are delaying their more major knee surgeries post-TLC PPV, maybe even as far as post-Mania so not to miss out on major money bonuses. Khali, Edge and Jim Ross still look like 2010 before returning to action.

See you next time and don't cha dare miss it!

- As reported earlier, WWE Studios will be developing a project called "Big Red". The project will likely change a bit, to fit what ever talent they want to use, but here is a synopsis of the project: "In 1965, as the world changes all around him, 12-year-old Andy Nichol comes of age when he's asked by his favorite teacher, Mr. Simon, to partner with school outcast Big Red for an English assignment." http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/123882/Raw-Hosts-Announced-For-January-18th-In-Knoxville,-Tennessee-.htm

made the following announcement today…

Jan. 18, 2010 Raw Guest Hosts: Jon Heder & Don Johnson

Stars from the soon-to-be-released film When in Rome, Jon Heder and Don Johnson, will take center stage on Raw on Jan. 18 from Knoxville, Tenn. Known mostly from his role as the discomfited and unintentionally humorous main character in Napoleon Dynamite, Heder enjoyed tremendous success this decade in a variety of comedies. Johnson, meanwhile, who became a popular television icon in the 1980s when starring in the hit series Miami Vice, continues to be an admired Hollywood actor. Their new film is set to be released in theaters on Jan. 29.

But now it's not as hard to make a name for myself as it was at first. I'm very proud of who I am and where I'm going, and the challenge."

Yeah not too much else to add except this news note that should get the WTF moment Slammy award but won't:

-FCW had 2 current WWE stars come by to give training tips to the developmental talent-Edge [excellent choice]...and Tiffany [WTF?!].

So exactly what DID the ECW GM on a dying brand [worst rating to date recently as the SyFy contract is about expired]? Insert your joke here. :P

OK if more news comes as the TLC PPV approaches this Sunday you know you can get it here!

A bunch of news-again refer for sources to links from our older posts.

-Bret Hart during recent interviews has pretty much designated he's got a new 4 month WWE contract starting on January 2010 through to Mania 26. Talks are for him to host the Jan.4 RAW as hinted this week on that horrid Slammy RAW. Story is he hosts the head to head RAW to TNA Impact which then leads to him either being in a feud with HBK or being the ref for a HBK/Taker rematch at Mania. Look then maybe for the Hart Dynasty involvement or a DX split too during this angle. It's going to be intriguing to see...!

-For now the DX Little People's Court angle will try again for taping this coming RAW hosted by free agent baseball player Johnny Damon.

-Christian is training in the MMA gym Xtreme Couture in Toronto. In ECW there's a 16 man tourney to give him rest/training time until facing the winner at the Rumble. Adding past ECW talent now on other shows is to aid sagging ratings so expect more past ECW champs to be in the TV tourney.

-The WWE is pushing this Saturday's Tribute to the Troops on NBC which will have a speech from President Obama, which Linda McMahon's using for repair support on her Senate campaign.

-TNA isn't the only ones going head to head with WWE in 2010. MMA company UFC will follow up on SPIKE TV with a Fight Night Live show on Jan.11, then have a PPV the day before Mania 26. TNA was going for 2 Canadian house shows too but have cancelled those.

-The WWE Wellness Policy got clarified online. Those who get a strike shall get random tests for 1 year more than normal. If one leaves with strikes then returns [likely Jeff Hardy's situation] they come back with the same amount of strikes. If it was 3 strikes they must pass new tests before return with 2 strikes and be on probation.

OK happy holidays to all as Christmas and New Years approaches!

Some updates to the news:

-Obama's people and Linda's campaign are releasing conflicting statements whether the taped speech for Saturday's NBC Tribute to the Troops show was generic or specific for WWE.

-Edge in recent talk shows says he's doing healing up in the mountains after he re-negotiated his contract to last 9 more months once he returns due to injury [it expired in October previously]. He's looking at a 1st quarter of 2010 return, likely in time for Mania 26 in Arizona.

-Speaking of Mania plans, it looks like initial plans for Taker/Vince changed with Bret Hart's signing. It's looking like ot will be HBK/Taker 2 while Vince/Bret is re-ignited. HHH, the Hart Dynasty, Hornswoggle and John Cena are still possible players for either angle.

-Look for Lance Cade to return in 2010 on Smackdown. Still no word on debuts for Bryan Danielson, Low Ki, or others in FCW, though some tryout students have been used as extras on TV lately [security, backstage staff, etc.]

-Mickie James on Twitter addressed how she's OK with the recent weight shoot angle but doesn't think warped views of beauty should decide, and she's fine with her look.

-Maria is doing promotional appearances leading to her appearance in March on Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice. Others on it include former WWE talent Bill Goldberg, Sharon Osbourne, Sinbad and Cyndi Lauper. Ted Dibiase Jr. also starts promo tours for the Marine 2 while various WWE talent have been promoting Saturday's NBC show.

-WWE is again shipping in midget actors to try Little People's Court again this week.

Finally with ECW likely changing it's that time of year for firings of mid to low level talents so if it goes down it will be noted here.

Quick notes:

-On his blog, Jim Ross announced his contract extension through 2010. Similar to Edge, due to healing he's being given extra months on his contract so companies like TNA who pushed for him can't obtain him now. Meanwhile JR also noted to return to announcing he's looking at March 2010 at earliest.

-From earlier Wellness Policy rules the WWE added clarified fines for marijuana use and alcohol consumption 12 hours before WWE events.

-ROH's excellent tag team the Briscoe Brothers impressed the WWE agents and got a weeklong FCW tryout, then will be informed if they get a contract offer.

Enjoy the Tribute to the Troops show this Saturday night!

-Tonight's ECW taped on a rare last Sunday due to holidays will be Tommy Dreamer's last WWE match as he sent his request to be released. Even with a contract extension, with ECW likely folding in 2010 and seeing lesser talents like Charlie Haas get bigger raises to stay despite not being on TV he got fed up and wanted out. Many talent like Mickie James are saddened since he's very popular backstage as the last true ECW Vet.

-Also from Sunday's ECW/Smackdown tapings since it was in Orlando, home of TNA, both TNA and WWE talent had secret get together parties. While TNA President Dixie Carter didn't mind, Vince has fired talent before for "crossing the line", and at the tapings had TNA Street Club staff tossed for promoting TNA's Jan.4 head to head.

-From this we got Bret Hart rumored to host RAW on Jan.4 to start either a feud with Vince or DX, the 11th show going against UFC's Fight Night originally had Mike Tyson hosting but it was pulled for now possibly due to contracts. Rapper Timbaland hosts next week's RAW and the acting duo of Jon Heder and Don Johnson are announced to host in January 2010 too so far.

-Talent hunt is fierce too for WWE and TNA. TNA let go Shiek Abdul Bashir [Daivari in WWE] by request, while going after Scott Hall [Razor Ramon], Sean Waltman [X-Pac], RVD, Ric Flair and ROH tag team the Young Bucks, while having more female talent work their Dec.31st special.

WWE let go Dreamer, retained Haas, gave tryouts to ROH tag the Briscoe Brothers, Ricky Steamboat Jr. and Jimmy Snuka's daughter, and signed Bret Hart.
-Jericho's band Fozzy will do the theme for the Royal Rumble. Meanwhile he got replaced by Hornswoggle in the RAW intro, while Mankind and Hogan no longer show on WWE promo vids, replaced by Ted Dibiase Sr.
Well again however WWE does, my hope is Jan.4 starts some competition so it forces creative to write GOOD storylines and push more new good talent, so here's hoping!

Some news on another guet host .As trigun mentioned in his lost Behind the Scnes Post that Mike Tyson was rumoured to be Guest hosting Januray 11th Raw which the WWE then confirmed then unconfirmed .However its now offical the Tyson will host Januray 11th's Raw after all.

http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/125275/WWE-Officially-Announces-Mike-Tyson-As-January-11th-Raw-Guest-Host.htm

WWE.com has announced, again, that Mike Tyson will be the special guest host for the January 11th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. They had posted the announcement yesterday, but then removed it from the site. WWE will be going head to head with a live UFC Fight Night event on January 11th.

If this changes myself or trigun will update so watch this space.Til next time all

As andy noted, Jan.11th's host is set as boxer Mike Tyson to go against SPIKE TV's UFC free show on TV. And of course after this coming's week RAW host rapper Timbaland, we get the big Jan.4 showdown with Bret Hart as host, with longer storyline feuds for Mania coming from it. TV previews are advertising this, and look for Vince to do a promo this week to hype Bret vs. Hogan so to speak.

-Adding to recent FCW contracts of Ricky Steamboat Jr. and Sorona Snuka [son of Ricky Sr. and daughter of Jimmy respectively] you can add the signing of luchadore Incognito.

-THQ, Jakks-Pacific and the WWE made cash settlements in their lawsuit over rights of products like the RAW vs. Smackdown video games. In fact they also made a new 8 year deal to continue to make and distribute the games together.

-The Santa on Smackdown recently is FCW wrestler Heath Slater.

Take care and a happy new year!

OK cool to be back with the laptop to properly report happening of the WWE!

General sources are like normal credited to http://www.f4wonline.com/ and http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/news.html and http://www.thefightnetwork.com/news/wrestling and http://www.411mania.com/wrestling

-The update on Melina is the knee will need surgery and the plan is to take the Divas belt off of her like planned to get to Maryse. No word yet though on how they do so (a match with another face for example).

-Just to clear up, the ECW Homecoming tourney to decide who faces Christian for the title at the Rumble, the 8 winners from round one matches will have an Over the Top elimination match on the Jan. 12 show. Meanwhile ECW is no longer showing in most of Canada, while Smackdown will stay on in the USA after a Times Warner/FOX deal got hammered out.

-In RAW news leading to the big Jan.4 showdown, the Hart Dynasty will be on the show. Also announced to host on Jan.25 are from USA Network's TV show Psych, James Roday and Dule Hill. John Cena will be on their show too. Note due to being invited to be at the Fiesta Bowl that Cena will miss the Jan.4 show.
