I know the cookie monster thing is old but honestly, how did political correctness every come into existance? Jim Henson would have never of approved of this if he was alive. You are welcomed to bash or defend PC.

I bash PC vigorously.

It came in existence by overly sensitive people with thin skin >.>

For the most part I agree that everyone should keep with a certain decorum with eachother but there is a limit. An example would be when a person is telling an off colored joke and the other person starts bitching because his/her feelings were hurt >.< Political correctly has no place in comedy or with your friends. But in the work place or in mixed company I feel that it's best no to be offensive.

There is a time and place for everything~ political correctness or the opposite

I think the word you are looking for is tolerance. To let such actions pass but to reject and not rebuttal against it.
Political correctness wants to take racists jokes out of the comedy clubs. Which I love even if they're against asian people, they're the best ones anyways.

*shakes head* What I meant is that a person should be politically correct in mixed company. But I do not agree that racist jokes should be taken out of comedy clubs or be censored :\

Also tolerance and political correctness go hand in hand.

They're similar but not really. That's what the PC's want you to think.
The cookie monster thing is what shows the difference between PC and tolerance. Tolerance would be, I know C is for cookie and I do not think we should eat cookies all day as my child would think so too from past experience. PC is when they change that because they think people are too retarded to realize that it's stupid to eat cookies all day.
To be politically correct in mixed company would be to remove the veil from Islamic women's heads in the Middle East. They would get shot if there were seen without a veil so tolerance plays better in this situation.
I don't agree with the veil thing either but if they won't listen then you gotta put up with it. Some people never listen and PC never works on some others.

I think most PC is tottal crap. I think it's immaturity. usually it's someone finds something that "offends them" then they gotta drop whatever they were doing and flop to the ground and bitch and moan until the person who "offended" them gets in trouble for "hurting their feelings". for everything in the world there is someone who is offended by it, and we can't ban the whole world for offending the whole world. that's why PC is usually an impossible vision that walks around with a telephone pole shoved up it's ass.

The Inevitable Result Of Political Correctness

By using the excuse of not upsetting anyone, the politically correct are demanding that people behave like the fool who would please everyone; that everyone must become such a fool! All must accept the notions of the Politically Correct as truth, or else! This is the same mentality that inspired the Inquisition and forced Galileo to recant; the same mentality that inspired the Nazis and obtained the Holocaust. Once expression gets placed in a straitjacket of official truth, then the madness that occurs in all totalitarian states is obtained. Life, in private and public, becomes a meaningless charade where delusion thrives and terror rules.
OBJECTION!<---- I'm getting addictive with this application.
