I just wanted to make that a little bit more clear/easy.
Plain form / Dictionary form / Te-form / Meaning 見る(miru) 見ます(mimasu) 見て - mite (to see, to watch, to show) 聞く / 聞きる(kiku/kikiru) ききます(kikimasu) きいて - kiite (to hear, to listen, to ask) 読む (yomu) よみます(yomimasu) よんで - yonde (to read) 書く(kaku) かきます(kakimasu) かいて - kaite (to write) 食べる(taberu) たべます(tabemasu) 食べて - tabete (to eat) する(suru) します(shimasu) (to do) 遊ぶ(asobu) 遊びます (asobimasu) あそんで - asonde (to play, to hang out) 買いる(kairu) かいます (kaimasu) かって - katte (to buy) 行く (iku) 行きます(ikimasu) いって - itte (to go) 飲む(nomu) のみます(nomimasu) のんで -nonde (to drink) 起きる(okiru) おきます (okimasu) おきて -okite (to wake up) Sorry, im afraid to put the te form for shimasu because i always mix it up with the one for shinimasu which means die. x________x About Te form Te form has many meanings depending on how u use it. If you use it as above, it is an instruction/command suwatte- sit! (from the verb suwaru) tatte- stand! (from the verb tatsu) tabete - eat! (from the verb taberu) if you don't want to order someone, you can make it a request with te form hanashite kudasai - please speak ( hanasu) okite kudasai - please wake up (okiru) nonde kudasai -please drink (nomu) *you can put onegaishimasu if u are really PLEADING another more complex use for te form is to express multiple verbs in a sentence (this is a little bit hard) ie: What did you do yesterday? kinoo, nani wo shimashita ka? yesterday i ran to the store then i saw a movie and then I went home. kinoo watashi wa omise ni hasashite, eiga wo mite, uchi ni kaerimashita. notice that you only made the LAST verb past tense. This is one way to express multiple verbs. I didnt go in depth with that, mabye if someone wants help i can assist. |

ah sorry sorry!
Okay so i wanted to add that shikukani is originally an adjective. (probably shizukana, but right now i cant remember) You change adjectives into verbs, but right now i also cant remember the exact way to do it. I just wanted to point out that there is a way and that shizukani is one example. |

I believe the te-verb for "shinimasu" is "shinde". Well, since i wrote that ive studied harder and found it wasn't shinimasu i was mixing it up with it was shirimasu. Shimasu ---> shite Shirimasu --> shitte and yes, Shinimasu -->shinde |
