Please only respond if you've seen both.

Personally, I like the Taiwanese drama because it's a lot more faithful to the manga and even when they cut something from the manga for the drama version there was a mention of it in the drama as an in-joke almost as to say, sorry we couldn't fit it. Also the OST ending of TKA had a better message than the anime. I want to grow old with you rather than preserve the way things are now.

However, I recognize that this anime is also trying to cram what is a josei manga to be shoujo and for younger kids. That must be very difficult. ^^;; I somewhat wish it stayed Josei, but I understand why it didn't stay josei.

I like both though overall.

I haven't read the manga so I don't know if either are faithful to it or not.. But from watching the drama, the anime does seem to cram everything in, as Hitsuji said, and it seems rushed. However, some think the drama drags on. So it could swing either way depending on your perspective..

I like both too but I prefer the drama over the anime.
But both are good ways to pass some time =)

i like both but the anime has more rewatching value to me. both the drama and anime are faithful to the manga. however, the drama twists/changes some things and embellishes some points. while the anime cuts out a lot of parts that could be filler and are basically trying to compress things, leading to some minor changes. otherwise, both are faithful though i personally think the anime captures the spirit of the manga more.

i was under the impression that itazura na kiss is shoujo, not josei. i've read other josei and itazura na kiss's story doesn't quite fit the genre. it's definitely a classic though, a very addicting story.

I'm not sure what josei means so that isn't gonna even be considered.

As for which is better...I liked the drama more but it's winning by barely. It just seems to me that the anime goes a bit fast but that just might be because I'm more used to the drama style of episodes were things tend to go a bit longer. However, the anime does an amazing job at keeping the story pretty faithful to what of the manga I've read (which is up to the introduction of Reiko, the college rival).

Another thing is the fact that the drama had more episodes to work with (and even though both are around 20 episodes, the drama had a one hour time slot while the anime doesn't, giving the drama almost twice the time). I just feel that the anime is a bit fast paced that's all and they cut out some scenes I would have preferred seeing. That and Kin-chan's change of heart was fast and her friends all but disappeared.

The drama wins in my book, but both are up there in great adaptations of a manga. Can't I vote for both?

Well...honestly speaking. I just can't find myself really liking the drama, simply because the cast isn't even Japanese. But I've seen both. Although I've seen 1st and 2nd seasons of the drama, I just don't find myself wanting to watch it again. However with the Anime, I watch it over and over again. I guess it's cause there's more comedy to the Anime than the drama. And simply because of the fact that is IS Anime...and well...I'm an Anime-otaku... So yeah. I like the Anime better~`

Besides, the other dude/girl was right...the drama drags on for so long I get tired of watching. And the people who played Naoki and Kotoko just plain suck! I mean, they're cute but...SUCK. So on the other hand.... I LIKE THE MANGA THE BEST! SAIKOU DA!!!!

I think that the story line in both the TW drama and the anime are following the manga pretty closely. The JP drama barely stayed on track with the manga. I also enjoyed the TW drama part 2 better than part one but together they are all time most favorite drama series.

hey, she isn't FAT for goodness sake! she just have a lot baby fat on her face that made her look fat...in fact, she slimmed down a lot ever since the second series.

personally, i prefer the drama series. the actors and actresses are actually able to bring out the emotions and feelings of the characters, especially ariel lin (acted as kotoko) and joe cheng (acted as irie). she can be so dumb until you really feel like beating her up, but yet her persistence and love for naoki really touches me a lot. also, joe cheng brought out the emotional struggle that irie had ever since meeting her.

in the anime, however, they seems very, stiff, to me. although there are a lot of exaggerated actions and movements, but well, it didn't really bring out the essence of the characters, and that was a little too bad...

also, joe cheng is super handsome!!! hahaa! love him lots! so you can say that i'm slightly biased...loved itazura na kiss because of him and ariel lin! oh! and also jiro wang, who acted as kin chan! the anime did no justice to his acting and looks! >_<

but still, the anime is super super great, and i anticipate the next episode as much as anybody who loves it! don't beat me! (hides as anime lovers throws vegetables at me!) lols! i'm slightly out of my mind today!

i like the way the drama flows through more..like there's more build up..and they really take their time, so that you grow into watching it as part of like everyday life, especially since it's kinda shot in such a natural manner. the anime is faster though, so it's a good way of rewatching everything..they took all the important events and put it together, so it's much easier to view..it strengthens your love for the story that way.
- if you watch just the anime, i think it might turn into something forgettable though.
- and watching the drama after the anime will make you impatient.

you guys think ariel lin is ugly?? really?? i think nobody could have played the role any better..although it branded her image..i can't watch any of her other dramas since i have already stuck IDIOT but SINCERE all over her face..i think the casting, mise-en-scene, directing, editing, is perfect for the drama..same goes with the anime..ariel was pretty cute in the drama, joe cheng was uhhh..well..he got the role perfectly..
