Le Portrait de Petit Cossette - a real piece of work, though it was only 3 episodes, the storyline was amazing.....a real horror/gothic/romance (all in one) anime

Ghost In The Shell: SAC - loved the idea of the "laughing man" and the robotic bodies they had were pretty interesting too.

Neon Genesis Evangelion- this show may have not been the greatest of graphics but it had alot of deep meaning like in the last episode where the main guy gets tormented by some illusion of a girl and that whole story behind Rei. I hated the fact that the main guy is a dam sissy who cries alot >.>.

Not exactly R-rated since it's NC-17, but Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal is an absolute masterpiece.

I'm pretty sure the meant, the storyline plot as well as the artistic style...quality can only go so far...

Anyways, "Neon Genesis" was one of my favorites. "Elfen lied" was good too. Never Seen "Monster" though.

My all-time favorite. I wonder if it would have an even more restricted rating due to the intensity, violence and nudity.

Yup. MONSTER is a great masterpiece, like Elfen Lied.
