In Linux, There is not much of a risk of viruses and not to mention it is a free OS. Windows, everybody targets this system because it is the most used so you will need all the spyware, adware crap you dont need in linux. I would rather chose linux but you need to have cross platform programs for linux.

Well it doesn't have my vote. I'll rather just buy the original program from the manufacturer. It helps them and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside :tears:.

Well according to McAfee SiteAdvisor: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/ddlspot.com?ref=safe&aff_id=0

That's what's been reported about that site. Some bad links and some claims of Ad-ware and Malicious programs.

Ubuntu is good, Mint is better for new users. http://www.linuxmint.com/index.html

Be warned my friend, Linux is known to be tricky, and it doesn't support most games.

Mint is based on Ubuntu if you didn't know, with some modifications to make it easier (more codecs are included, and so are desktop and disk managers)

^ astalavista.com looks interesting.

"Astalavista.com was originally founded in 1997, by a hacker computer enthusiast. The name of the site came from the unforgettable line in the Terminator 2 movie - "Hasta Lavista baby""

(The rest is at http://www.aboutus.org/AStalaVista.com )

Where have I been?

There's something called an Emulater which always comes in handy when a program is not cross platformed.
