all of those are pretty much non entry level... well the first maybe. It all depends on you and how much you have to work with. What kind of vehicle are you planning on doing this to? There's numerous ways to do it.

What I learned most about car audio, you can still get bang for your buck with some items as well as with how you structure your install. What I mean by that is, think of the vehicle as a COMPLETE enclosure (in a sense your vehicle is the speaker box that has several speakers inside of it, with the help of amplifiers to push the sound out). I hope this makes sense right now.

To go big you will be definately spending BIG. I recommend starting with several companies called Digital Designs, FI, RE, and Elemental Designs (I think they do subs). Those are some of the high end bass sub companies out there that no many people know about. As far as Amplifiers, I would look at Kicker, Digital Designs, Performance Technique, USA Amps, MMats... I forget most of them but research around.

If your still puzzled try a site called Realm of Excursion (ROE). They pretty much SPECIALIZE in audio, from how to's on making boxes, sub tests, head unit info, etc.

www.realmofexcursion.com

hope this helps you out.

Haha..Wow! So you know about Resonant Engineering too? Not that many people do at all. My buddy is running their XXX 12". Its really high quality brand that people dont know much about. The same goes for Ascendant Audio. Pretty much same product as RE.

of course, you got to go past all the MTX and Rockford b.s. if you really want to play. Last I heard though RE is going to the shitter since a couple of their people left and started FI, which is currently kicking mad ass in car audio. There's also more people that are coming out these days though. Fusion... eh, I keep forgetting that one small company (China) that JL bought. I know they have their old amp guts in there. The subs aren't even worth it. The amps are though.

if all you want is a ridiculous amount of sound why not simply get an 18 wheel rig and set up a complete nightclub sound system in the trailer at least that way you can have a rolling rave instead of driving solo in a car so packed with speakers you can't even have a passenger.

Uh, so it's a bad thing to be an audiophile? I have enough room for all FOUR people in my hatchback lol.

Rice is 3 decked spoilers and body kits. I'm piecing my motor together as of earlier this month, so it's ricer if you can hear me comin' and I smoke you after? I'm just able to plan and coordinate my funds to dabble in the best of both worlds... People might not like bass where YOU'RE from but it's me and my friend's enjoy it pretty well here...

the term ricer is so loosley defined. Basically for MY defintition its those who try to copy the looks of cars from fast and furious movies(although we all secretley want one ^^). Sure if you have the funds go ahead and do what you want but I'm just saying there's better things that money can be spent on

too bad sarcasm goes right over your head but I'll clarify having a sound system you need to wear earplugs to use because you'd blow your eardrums out otherwise is a waste of money and effort. and yes people who waste the time and money are pretty stupid period.

same for the dummies who add air systems so they can hop the cars front end 6'-7' off the ground because they think its cool.

I respect people who make changes that actually improve performance when your car is costing you more in cosmetic crap than the drive train and engine I personally think your an idiot. you'll notice the best show cars all have performance and beauty they may have $20,000 paint jobs but the engines are still worth more and actually function. A car with $20,000 dollars worth of speakers running a piece of crap engine is the real meaning of "ricer" and for every really good performance car with $10,000+ in audio set up there are a few hundred dumb asses running pieces of crap with the same audio system.

and as I said in another thread "all that money on your car and my stock bike is still faster" so even after you build your engine there will be thousands of stock bikes that will be able to blow your doors off as they leave you in their dust.

Well if you want place a car against a bike of course that's a disadvantage. If we're talking about that then why don't you put your bike against MY bike then? If you're going to compare something like that then atleast let it be on an equal playing field. Your bike weighs 1/3 of my car's weight with half the amount of power... so of course who's gonna be faster? If you put your car against MY car now that's a leveled playing field.

And yes I understood it was a sarcastic remark, thus the "lol" at the end of my comment. Regardless that's what you're preference is and this IS a thread on audio system's so if you're gonna bash on people with sub's go ahead. Truth be told I wouldn't want any of those car's in the first post of this thread even if they were given to me. I have a simple audio system that takes up moderate room and functions just as well as those. If this were a thread about performance I would have posted my ends on it but it wasn't so I stayed on topic.

Not to mention the amount of exaggeration you're using to belittle other people's interests. Needing to wear earplugs and blowing out eardrums and spending $20,000 on this sub and that amp. Some people do this just because they like to participate in Audio competitions. I don't hate on the dudes that wanna do gymnastics in the Olympics so I don't see why you should hate on people who love their sound just because you aren't interested.

Oh and as for me building my motor out as much as I can and still getting smoke:

If he didn't have that traction problem from the start he would have won even sooner. Not the first, and definitely not the last.

do you have any idea how slow a bike that was?

here's what real bikes are doing :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMSPik1HGLo&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQwwORRlwX4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uld4aDpzszw&NR=1

the times for mostly stock bikes ranges from 8-11 seconds when you start putting money like that car of yours did into the bikes your car will be left behind by 4 seconds because mod bikes are down to the 5-7 second times don't forget your hot car only did 10.94 the busa can do low 8's and moded has done high 6's low 7's fully modified bikes are even faster.

but then again you talk fair playing field then you post a car with thousands of dollars worth of mods for performance vs a stock bike which looked like a 600cc if your going to talk stock vs stock at least get the two most comparable which are the viper vs busa and even then the only vids up are questionable because they are not timed runs

Uh.... You're the one that presented the situation to me about a modded car vs. a stock bike...

Okay stock vs. stock, a stock bike puts does a quarter mile in 10 secs. Who doesn't know that bike is faster than a car? I never mentioned anything about performance parts in my car to beat bikes. I just wanna beat cars. Lmao.

So to you it's still a fair playing field to race a bike vs. a car. Again, LOL. I haven't seen any competitions where they put car's with bikes. Why? Because of the disadvantages car's have against bikes (In terms of speed and turns). Bikes have a faster 0-60, faster 60-0, incredible turning capabilities. So if you want to continue bench-racing with your stock bike and complain about me having tasteful mods then that's still not quite fair, but hey, you got a bike so you're faster!
