but those that do know about it still can marvel at it.
so how is this car an improvement from the regular veyron? did they manage to fit in another V8 or something to get another 300bhp? whatever it is, all it is going to end up being is like a normal veyron, a huge financial loss for VW with every sale.

Back in April, Bugatti executives mentioned the Veyron supercar will eventually spawn an even more exclusive roofless open-top model, which the first official images and details of the car have been revealed. The new Grand Sport is scheduled to make its world debut for the first time at this year’s Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance in the U.S. on August 16. Chances are the company will announce how many open-top Veyron Grand Sports will be produced and when the first cars will be available. Rumor has the first car will be made in Spring of '09 and will be auctioned at next year's Concourse d'Elegance show.

Featuring a removable roof and a number of added features exclusive to the new model, it will also incorporate a number of structural changes designed to ensure the roadster offers similar performance and passive safety levels as the coupe. What is unknown is if the Grand Sport will be able to reach the same 253mph top speed like the coupe, as the added weight of the reinforcements are expected to come at a cost to performance.

According to Bugatti’s communication chief, Georges Keller, the roofless ‘targa’ option was the only one available to Bugatti because there was no other solution which could fit with the car’s safety cage. While the roof will be removable, there will be no storage space for it within the car, so the cover will have to be taken off at home.

They can get an extra 300bhp out of it by turning up boost pressure or swapping for bigger turbos. Not by adding another V8 you idiot.

I think the guy was kidding around Veyron1001. I wouldn't take his comment serious at all.

I am not sure if it will reach that speed. The turbulence might limit the top speed quite a bit.

lol. that's why i said "fastest hairdryer", not car. don't particularly care for the Shelby SSC either. Although not a "production car", GM was ahead of the game with the Corvette Callaway Sledgehammer.
