I'm quite the opposite really.
Because when I die, personally I think it's over. What I had is done, and now I am at peace.
Living life is scary because things happen and change, events occur, there's love, hate, friends, relationships,so much to do.

I'm scared of the fact that I won't get to see my loved once when I die ,I'm scared of the afterlife but death is inbevitable ..Maybe it's because they are lots of things I want to do first and most importantly make my family proud ..

Posting a reply in this topic means that I fear death. What fears me the most about death is that "What if there was no such thing as an after-life?!" What is it like when you're dead and there's no such thing as an after-life?! This really makes me go paranoid.

I've even joined several paranormal groups, even the one I used to have in my old university. Some even say that they open 3rd eyes, and I volunteered. I'm an active member of every paranormal society i joined.

Yet, no luck of seeing a spirit, a ghost, a wraith, nothing!!! I can't believe ghost stories on TV reports. The TV is a very unreliable when it comes t this kind of truth because for them, this ghost stories are nothing but a good way to catch viewers.
There was even a point in my life that I slept for 6 days in a real spooky graveyard.

<Sigh> But no sign of a ghost. No sign of the afterlife.

Maybe i really get to find out the truth only when i die. Scary. No afterlife. What would happened then?

Depends on how you die. If your death is going to be extremely painful and slow, then yes it is to be feared. For instance, a peaceful death in your sleep is nothing to be afraid of.

The Charge of the Light Brigade

1.

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

2.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

3.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

4.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

5.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

6.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Copied from Poems of Alfred Tennyson,
J. E. Tilton and Company, Boston, 1870

So why the fear of death, when we remain in the realm of the livings have no right to question the reasoning of those who were ordered to die for others' sake.

Therefore when my time comes, I wouldn't be asking "why me". Because I had plenty of time while I was still alive to answer myself "what for", by me done all that I could do 'til the end of my life. When I fear of death only because I felt I haven't done enough.

I think a lot of people are afraid of death because no one really knows what happens after we die. Well, sure, if you're any type of religious there's probably some afterlife you have in mind...but, seriously, who HASN'T doubted their faith before?

Another reason could be there are things you still want to get done or there are people here on Earth who need you. That's my biggest thing. I've had people tell me they wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't around anymore. -_- I mean, they should definitely learn to be more self-sufficient than that, but until then, I look after them.

ugh yah there was a stage i been through when i used to cry a lot becuz i know i would die someday and no one can live forever. im over that now... right now death isn't such a bad idea. but i still wont commit suicide because im nervous of what death is really like. dying. is it scary? peaceful? depends on how you die of course. but still.. what comes after it? this scares me.
