We fear death because it's in our instinct. Life is existence and death is the end of that existence. We also fear the unknown, where would we go after we leave this world? Some are afraid or not afraid because of what religion taught them. I admit that I fear death, but I do accept the fact that I may die anytime and all I can do is to live one day at a time.

Maybe because we don't know when or how it will happen. Or maybe because we don't know what will happen after we're dead.

Yeah, I'm afraid of death. And I'm proud of it in some way.

Because being scared of death, you get the desire to life and that's whole point. We shouldn't be thinking about something we don't know of, instead we should hold on to life, which we do know of. Only living life to the fullest would it be unregrettable, and when that certain time comes for me, I wouldn't be sad, cuz my life is fullfilled.

Besides if I'm not afraid of death, my chance of suiciding is higher, which is a bad thing.

I am really not. Although I am an atheist I have to beleive in the afterlife after watching my grandma die and hearing her last words.
"Okay... I'm Ready... Lets Go"' - grandma Adams last words.

Ps. Weeks before her death she had lost the ability to speak. And a week b4 her death she went into a coma. I hope some understand and enjoy the picture I am painting. We don't know "anything".

Exactly, nobody knows what a dying person is going through; my grandma* waved her maid goodbye while smiling, she was fine the time before she died... How did she know, that she was leaving..?

^Well, that isn't what I meant, but rather what exactly a person feels, sees, hears,..etc while dying...

Regarding to paradise which described in Quran and Bible; it exists as well as hell. However we, muslims, believe that people will go to heaven/hell after Last Judgment, but we also believe that when a person died, he will be shown his place in paradise or hell.

Of course, but knowing some secrets is better than knowing none.

I'm not sure if I understand your last sentence, but I was just trying to figure out why you are sure that the afterlife is not like what religions tell, while the concept of afterlife derives from religions in the first place.

My last sentance means, the afterlife is something that religion can't explain. IMO it is way different than anything you've ever read about in religious text.
