I'm actually not afraid of death because I know it's going to happen anyways and whatever happens after death (If anything) will just be a new adventure! So I'm almost excited to find out what happens... as morbid as that sounds.

Logically, to be afraid of death is to be afraid of life. I'm not scared of death itself; I'm scared of how, when and why I die.

It doesn't follow. Knowledge is the antidote to fear. Although we do know what death is, none of us actually experienced being dead. Life, on the other hand, had been studied and is very transparent through the process of conception. Although thanatology is an acclaimed study for death, still there are lapses with regards to information for which only a direct experience could verify. Our knowledge is limited thus making fear for death and its accompanying processes logical.

That's why I added the extra adverb "logically". Not everyone is always thinking logically. It's called deduction, and specifically modus ponens.

To live is to eventually die, therefore to be afraid of death is to be afraid of life. So yes, it does follow.

There's nothing to be afraid about the simple act of dying, I guess most people are afraid of what comes afterwards (or more precisely, of there being absolutely nothing afterwards). I think there's no point in worrying about something we have no way to know about, we'll all see when the time comes...

the thing I'd be afraid of is knowing you're going to die next week, either of an illness or of old age, and having those thoughts wether or not you lived your life to the fullest. Imagine suddenly realizing that there's so many dreams you haven't fulfilled, so many things that you regret having done, or not having done, and you don't have the slightest chance to do something about it now. But I guess I have nothing to be afraid about, because I try to live without regrets, and because I generally always accept things as they are anyway.

Personally, I believe I could be more scared of death (not saying I'm fearless or anything, just saying I could have more fear...), but what I'm actually scared of is HOW I'll die (having a slow, painful death as opposed to a calm one in my sleep, for example)

But, then again, why be afraid of something which hasn't happened yet? If you spend your whole life locked inside your house, afraid of dying, what kind of a life is that, eh?

I'm not afraid to die, because I know I'll go to Heaven when I do...so I'm prepared..even if I die right now...

I'm more scared of how I am going to die. I would've preferred a sudden death, not slow torture..like OMG that is SO gonna hurt

I mean, killing you slowly and painfully, ugh...

I'm afraid to die and I can honestly say I'm not ashamed to admit it. Isn't it human nature to be scared of the unknown? Like the darkness for example, as a child, you can see in the darkness and that's why you could be afraid of it. Although as you grow up, you find there's nothing to be afraid of in the dark, what's you've grown out of ghosts, the boogeyman, etc. Only with death, you won't get over it until you, well, die. Because death will always and forever be unknown. Unlike when you're in your room in the dark, a place where you are aware of your surroundings (and maybe think that ghosts and the boogeyman don't exist), you won't know what happens after you die. As you grow, you will only learn more about the world, the good and the bad, and I guess be afraid to leave it to go to the unknown. The sum it up, I'm scared to die because I don't know what will happen. Will I go to heaven? Will I think and feel but be unable to move, simply lying down in a coffin, forever? There are an infinite number of theories of what happens after death, the trouble is, which one is true.
