"Why are you afraid of living?"

Haha now that is easier for me to answer.

I'm a failure that is why and no matter how hard I fucking try it seems like it is never good enough.

DO NOT QUOTE ME OR REPLY TO THIS. -_-

I'm not afraid of death. It's just a normal thing that everyone has to go through sooner or later.

I don't fear death itself, however I do fear reaching the end of my life having chased after things I longed for but was unable to gain.

it's easy to not be afraid of death if you don't believe in an afterlife. Try to imagine yourself before you were born. That's death

I'm not afraid of death. I know that I will probably die fighting or die trying to crack a joke.

I think i fear death because I don't know what comes after, if there even is an "after". That'd be really really sad to lose everything when I don't feel I've done everything I wanted or have a sense of satisfaction (leave some sort of legacy or something to be remembered by if only by a select few) to close the final chapter of my life.

When you understand that when you die, you disperse into proteins. It's not as hard to accept death because fear comes from the unknown. I know, therefore I am not as afraid.

Just consider death to be a un-birth experience. You go back to not existing anymore, just like it always was before you were born. Technically speaking, we all have experience being dead. Pre-birth is training for it.

Thanks, that's really comforting in a nihilistic sort of perspective. So all the stillborn babies and miscarriages were basically dead from the get go?

I'm not really afraid of death, not consciously, anyway. Whenever I think about it, it isn't the going that gets me. It's how the people I leave behind might feel. If I was alone in the world I wouldn't worry about it at all, or, as long as I outlive the people who would grieve. But either way, death is a lot less scary then living. To me, the destination is nowhere near as scary as the journey.

I definitely feel there is nothing after death. I feel it is infinite sleep. If you die while asleep, you will know nothing ever again.

The fear for me is not being ready to die...I mean how could I be? There's such an incredible amount to accomplish in life and we tap out at 50,60,70,80 years old? We are so used to living such a short time that we accept 80 as ancient and you're done living but really? 80 years is only a second. We feel much older than 80 because our bodies fail us. If we didn't get sick and weak, we could live thousands of years and still enjoy new things.
