Well, I'm proud to be pinoy... I admit when I was in the Philippines I don't really watch fdramas and I prefer to watch kdramas and tdramas (even til now)... but i remember some fdramas that I think is a little different from the others in the past... it started I guess in "Mula sa Puso" and "Pangako sa'yo" which made a big break in vietnam and thailand... I think dramas like "Kung mawawala ka", "Kay tagal kang hinintay", "Maging sino ka man1&2", "Walang Kapalit", "Lobo", "Kampanerang Kuba" and "Dyosa" is quite good as well... although we can predict some of the story line (because we know how filipinos think) it is still good to hear a very touching dialogues delivered by our talented actors and actresses... There's always room for improvements, give the script writters, directors, and producers a chance to do something better... Maybe we can surpass other dramas once they've learn how to make it more interesting and less boring to watch.. Let's just hope fdramas will still survive the showbiz industry and hope that asian neighbors would love to watch those... maybe they would because our dramas are totally different from theirs and who knows they might get bored on their dramas because they can also predict the next scene... like someone will die or the ending is tragic etc etc... malay mo db?

I agree with you..... We can predict the next scene or criticize the acting prowess because we are of the same culture and we can right away pin point what is wrong in the drama unlike with other country's series wherein we focus more on the subtitles and we are not even familiar about which is natural acting to them..., or if the storyline is real life based or just a product of the writer's rich imagination.

hahahaha... just a few asians watch Fdramas i think. we grew up as a mixed cultured country that's how things got confused not only in making a movie/drama but the whole thing about philippines. though we speak and understand english, it didnt really helped us improved in some other factors.

the elements in making a good movie is real hard to figure out. we cant stand out among other countries coz we liked copy cat so much. seldom i found Fmovies and Fdramas that are simply yet a outstanding plot of making it. hhmmmm... let me think of those few...

1. you are the one
2. my bestfriends' girlfriend
3. magnifico
4. you got to believe in magic
5. once more chance
6. lucky you, lucky me??? lolz. i dont know if this the title. sandara park and joseph bitangcul are the main characters

other than this..huh. phil entertainment just really need to improve. hope the betty la fea remake will be a worth to watch..

I'm proud of being Filipino. The reason I don't watch em because I can barely understand my own language. I can get understand a few sentence here and there but that's it. I like a couple of the movies they make but heck I would probably need subs to understand whats going on. When I have time I usually just watch Wow Wow Wee (Don't know if that's how you spell it) and Game Kana Ba? The game show on those are weird but easy. I remember one episode that they have two people playing. One of them had to say Hip Hip and the other person says Hooray. And if they point at you, you have to say that word your assign to. Its just funny because of their accent. Anyway some reasons I don't like it because of the actor/actress. Most of them are ehh.. They need new faces to be put on the air.

yes.. i wont be hypocrite sometimes it gets draggy... theres a very boring and too dramatic part(I think their doing that coz were very good in acting, i mean the actors/actress here)... but admit it its improving!!!... bsyd some of the movies can compete from other asian movie..ryt?!and our dramas like gulong ng palad, maging sino ka man, and many more..(i agree its a very good drama) and isnt other countries are also copying or what do u call that???... hmnn.. i forgot.. basta example.. hana kimi jap/ tw, hana/ meteor/ and from the comics and from the cartoon!!! right.. and many more how can u say that?!... yes nowadays.. im watching more dramas that from other countries... but i can feel that we filipinos can still improve our dramas skills..

but admit it... we have a very good looking actors/actress and a good acting skills!!! and filipinos are very talented!!!.. thats why I'M PROUD TO BE PINOY!!! !...

I agree...
Thumbs up always to ABS-CBN dramas = high quality drama.

I'm sick and tired of watching filipino drama series because of this reasons:

1. Super dragging story that would end maybe 6 months or less.
2. Extended cast that are not capable to act..
3. boring story and a lot drama..
4. obviously I don't like the main cast..

For me, i have bunch of other nationality colleagues here from work (abroad) who loves to watch our dramas & even bought dvd's. I was even surprised that they love our dramas when I'm not even fond of watching those long and draggy dramas, and thus haven't had enough time to watch & follow on those dramas almost everyday aired on TFC becoz of work sked too. Well, i really dunno why but they have all the same comments & that we have all good actors & actresses that they tend to get carried away almost all the time esply. on the crying scene. In fact, my Fijian colleague wants me to buy dvd of Maging Sino Ka Man 2 when i was on vacation recently but it was not out yet that time, hekhek! Well, i like some of our movies though esply. the RomCom type movies we have, funny & cute.:-)

I dont think anybody would watch fdramas cause of its flaws
im filipino and im gonna say fdramas are one of the worst dramas ive seen
its not horroble its just that there are so many dramas from oher countries that fixed
what fdramas lack and added elements of their own
but I heard once that a fdrama(cant remember what) made it big in thailand or vietnam

i think you were referring to "Pangako Sa Yo" which was a big hit not only in countries here in asia but also in Africa and some parts of North America...

i think the fmovies are more appealing than the fdramas..the fdramas tend to have a complicated plot with a bunch of different characters..

complicated plot with a bunch of different characters, similar with spanish dramas don't you think? unlike those C/J/Kdramas which only focus on the main characters. I used to hate fdramas too before with the same reasons, but sooner i learned to appreciate them because

1.they're our own
2.they make a difference among asian dramas, which make us different from them (You don't like us imitating others right? so this is it!)
3.these kind of dramas are really hard to create and writing such scripts is really confusing, hail to our writers
4.about our dramas having similarities with spanish dramas, it's clearly CULTURAL. japanese, koreans, and chinese people have their styles similar with each other, we have our own style different from them SO WE SHOULD NOT COMPARE.
5.our dramas are more realistic compared to theirs, which contains too much fantasy LOLz
6.our dramas are finally improving, LOVE THEM

finally, as everybody would say over and over again, our movie/music industry wouldn't click much because we ourselves won't entertain them. we only get to appreciate them once they get appreciated by other countries lol. THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IS WE FILIPINOS ARE TOO XENOCENTRIC, MEANING WE LOVE TO LOVE OTHERS' CULTURE. duh!

erm..........filipino dramas and movies for me are just so.....the same? they all basically have the same storyline and plot...so any "twist" is expected.

hehehe....by the way eventhough you don't like filipino movies you guys should refrain saing that fmovies sucks!!because it's not easy to be on that business...., so should be proud of your country..like charice pempengco, only few of the filipino's supported her and then now..that she is famous..filipinos are showing their sarcastic support to her!!..you guys should change..and support someones dream so that they can make it more beer..and maybe someday you will be proud of you artists..
