if thats ur dream, its better to study now while you're still young. Once your an adult, you wont be able to learn any language easier.

And try to get perfect accent: copy sentences from whatever you're watching and repeat it many times until it sounds nice.

edit: btw i can kinda teach you. wat do you want to know?

...

1.Go take some Japanese classes. Without a teacher, you will probably end up having a horrible accent, and this can be very hard to correct.

2. Go read about some basic stuff on the internet (ex. Wikipedia) and try learning the 2 basic alphabets on your own.

3. Immerse yourself in the language. Although absorbing a lot of Japanese media DOES help, watching anime does not teach you fluent Japanese. Anyone who says that it can is either lying or is not fluent.

I'm took Japanese 9 and for my final mark was over 90%. My teacher takes things way too slowly...I'm taking J10 in September, hope I can skip J11 by taking the placement exam...

Anyway, if you have a good teacher and a genuine interest in the language and culture, Japanese is a very fun language to learn ^_^

Edit: Once you learn to read, get some raw manga and try reading it. You don't have to understand it, but it improves your comprehension ^_^

If you have any questions, you can ask me as well ^o^

Here is a good site for learning the language -> www.thejapanesepage.com - I use this site and its helped me so much. =D

And take the advice that seacucumber has given you, use it, and ganbatte kudasai! (do your best!)

Demo, boku no nihongo wa warui desu yo, sukoshi wakarimasu, sukoshi boku wa anata o herupu suru de shimasu.

Demo, ganbatte. Nihongo wa sugoi desu ne, boku wa mandeimasu. =D

duplicate.
Here are a few threads that ask the same thing. Some can even help you like the second thread.
I say just take Japanese language class, try to watch anime without sub, or surround yourself with japanese people. You'll pick up quickly.

Mainly listen, listen listen listen, and you will pick it up fast.

Listen to music, watch Jdramas, Japanese music... there are alot of Jmusic artists out there...here are some to get you started:

Orange Range
L'arc en Ciel
Flow
Dir en Grey (caution, very vulgar haha)
Miku Matsune (its only a comp voice but its pretty damn good)
BoA
SuG
Kat-Tun
Ayabie
Asian Kung-Fu Generation
Hyde
SKIN
Ghost
NewS

And you learn from there, get the songs from anime you like and listen to them, find out the artists, I know many artists.

And, when you are watching anime, watch it in Japanese if you can find it, and if you learn to write and read it, go to http://www.tim.hi-ho.ne.jp/manga100/index.html for alot of manga all in Japanese. Just look, get a teacher or teach yourself, hell, I could teach you some basic stuff. (If you are interested just PM me)

And there you go. Also, when you get mor fluent in the language, I suggest you get skype for better language fluency, because you can talk to people on there through the internet, and it makes a great way to brush up on your speaking and listening skillz.

This is my first year, and I dont do anything without something Japanese to help me listen or study, I make CDs, order from the internet, books and all that, beg my mum for all the stuff, lol.

Just immerse yourself in the language, and even if you arent listening to it, it will still get into your mind if its playing somewhere.
