His ability to summon and use resengan with ease could be presumed to come from his fathers side.

She died giving birth to Naruto due too heavy blood loss, did you see the size of Naruto no wonder she lost loads of blood. I have heard rumours that the 9 tails is made up of Ying and Yang, only 1 part of that was sealed in Naruto and the other was either taken by the Death God from the sealing jutsu or as that dodgy filler suggested. It floated around like clouds and that guy took it and sealed it in his son, who was at the Fire Temple.
