ok so lets get started!
first i wilol teach regulary greetings like hello, etc.
Guten Tag!
Hello! but if you translate it word by word then Guten means good and Tag means day.
but you can shorten it and can say Hallo ! much easier^^
there much more greetings but the most important are:
Guten Morgen -> Good morning
Guten Tag -> Good day/hello
Guten Abend -> Good evening
Hallo -> hello

not like in english where you just can say good in german it depends on the subject it belongs to.
so let me explain it with the exsample of Gute Nacht and Guten Morgen, ok?
so in german Nacht is feminin and Morgen is masculin thats why the ending has a "n" after "Gute"

so its because of the gender of the subjects! in german there are 3 gender of articels for the subjects ( in english just one ->"the"): feminin, masculin and none of the two (the english "it")
