What you guys don't notice (or might have, I haven't read all 238979423743 pages of this thing) is that Natsume Yuujinchou does have romance! It's just not with the main cast of a characters. A lot of it's happening with the youkai, like the episode with the Koto, and even in the second episode, with the old woman and her peaches.
As for romance happening with Natsume, I seriously doubt it. He seems to like Taki as a friend, and the class president freaks him out with her neediness and obsession with his "talent" (and the fact that she could out him to everyone if she knew). And then there's Natori, who's creepy and says weird flirtatious things with Natsume that make me laugh, but seriously, I think this kid just...isn't going to end p with anyone. Personally. XD

I remember the author explicitly stating she didn't want this to be romantic. You should read her other work if you want romance.

I think we should leave the romance up to the fanfiction writers. I can't see it actually happening in the anime or manga, and I would prefer if it didn't.
Though I will be the first to admit, this anime has so much yaoi potential, it's hard not to see, but once again let's leave that to the fanfiction authors.

Nah. Romance would actually ruin this great anime.
