DaisukeDX at first screening should be fairly easy since hopefully it would only be uploaded with a moderators approval. Then the mods could make a list on the forum of whats been uploaded and by who that way there would be alot less confusion.

Personally I am all for the idea of adding manga to cr's ever growing selction of media. I hope it gets approved I can think of a few things that would be good to load to the site.

We never get permission from Anime fansub groups before allowing an uploaded video, so I don't see how Manga scans are any different.

uhh.. . .BK is right ... you don't have to ask permission to the scanlator of the specified manga... they scan and translate for people to be able to use them ... and that, they add a page or two about their scanlator group .. and the best thing one can give them (besides paypal support) is to give credit to their work in exchange for using them . .. ^_^ simple as that .. .

and about licensed manga. ... its really never a big issue than it is in anime. .. . i know lots of licensed manga that can be viewed online .. but there are some scanlator groups that follow that theme, 'if the manga we host becomes licensed, we pull them down" .. but there are brave souls that continue them..

just like yakitate japan manga, scanlated and hosted by snoopycool but when it was licensed, they pulled it down, .. it was off for a little while but now minna-scans hosts yakitate scanlation .. its not as fast as snoopy cool seeing the manga is licensed its still hard to host a licensed manga ... ^_^

and its viewing online licensed manga .. those companies never really focus on them ... like what they say, "We(They) have bigger Fish to fry".. . .

seeing my online viewing manga also hosts licensed mangas and its still up.. and all other MSN online viewing manga groups.. ^_^

Ha. That's one of popular subjects for net debates.

The most popular angle is - if kids are too young to view certain aspects of the internet, then they are too young to use the internet without parental supervision. In theory they are supposed to use the internet unsupervised when they are 13 or over.

So, whose responsibility it is to ensure that kids won't access or view television/movies/anime/manga with some mature element? I think everyone knows the answer, but of course the responsibility is almost always shoved over to a site owner and whoever is involved with the site. Great move, parents/legal guardians(!)

That's what makes it so tough, I think. I mean some parents seem to think it's okay for their kids to watch anything as long as (female) nudity and sex aren't involved, which means it's okay for these kids to see scenes of graphic violence. I always find that logic strange.

Putting up a note under a mature manga title to say "Not for children" is the best CR can do at this stage?

^^ I totally agree with Catex. . .I always find it kinda funny when nudity and sex stuff are consider too mature while death and violence is okay. . .

But heck I know most kids are more mature now than ever. ..they already know most of what adults try to cover up anyway. . .so to each their own and their parents trusts. . .
