It should definitely not be held in an African country. First of all they'd never be able to provide sufficient money to fund it. Even London is struggling to build and renovate its city with the finances that it has and London's like the second richest city in the world.

London was a good choice at first when compared against all the other cities that was competing that year but now it's just becoming problematic. Many Londoners are hugely resentful of it. Think of all the taxes they have to pay. Some parts of Africa may be ridiculously rich but they are corrupt. The benefits they are getting in return are very slight to what they would potentially be paying up.

I'm looking forward to the Vancouver Olympics in 2016 actually. I think they picked a good city for that.
London does deserve to host it in 2012 although they should get rid of that ridiculous logo.

actually Vancouver will host the Winter Olympic Games in 2010,for the summer ones in 2016 I don't think the city has been decided yet.

I think its between Chicago, Rio De Janeiro, Madrid, and Tokyo. New York was in the running for the 2012 Olympics. I am not sure, but I think a city can't run consecutive years to try and host the Olympics, otherwise I'm sure New York would have tried again.

oh ok I don't know that either....I heard somewhere that Madrid and Paris will be competing again but since they had it in 2004 in Europe and now in Asia(that would rule out Tokyo) New York would be the valid choice...if not, that leaves Chicago and Rio de Janeiro(I'd pick Rio)

Right now the two cities with the highest score is Madrid and Tokyo, so it will likely be one of those two. I am not sure what the IOC's criteria is for a city but I don't think it matters about the part of the world.

Its far down the road, but 2020 Olympic city is going to be interesting. The list of cities applying for a bid will include, Dubai, New York, San Francisco, Rome, and Delhi.

I know that was kinda my guess mixed with the sayings and rumors,so although IOC stated that they choose cities, not continents, there is still a pattern that seems to be followed.Yeah I also saw the scores and Madrid and Tokyo are in the lead,so it's possible the Olympics will move back in Europe or remain in Asia, and yes interesting list of cities for 2020(woah gonna be 30 then).

ANTARCTICA! if you ignore the part freezing part...

but logically speaking not U.S, because at the moment it doesn`t seem safe and its not really the right time yet. I`ll probably go for someplace in Luxembourg.
