CHAPTER ONE
A Warrior's Journey To the End

Cascad was standing on the border. The imaginary line that kept Her Magesty's land and Lord Farmont's land apart.
She was at the very edge of the forest. Past the border, there were no trees. Just the plains, where ferocious beasts lurked.
Cascad sighed nervously, she did not feel ready for this journey. She'd been summoned by the queen herself and told to travel straight to the Lord's castle. There were no further instructions.
Only destiny will decide my fate, Cascad thought.
She was a legendary warrior, known even in the Lord's liar. She lived in the castle. Once she had been raised by four knights, then they had sent her to the warriors' school in the palace. Once she graduated, she was sent through many quests and was in many battles, being once the one who led them. Now she stand here, for the first time, exitting the safety of the trees.
She rode her shadow horse over the border.
This is stupid... better yet, suicide. Why go on the Lord's land without invitation, without a reason, and most of all, without welcome? Cascad thought.
She stayed causios, for she sensed the border guards' awareness. They would be heading toward her now.
The plains were so tall, they swallowed her. This land was unknown to her. She did not know how to fight nor to hide in the flimsy plains.
She felt a shiver of fear ripple through her shadow horse. Cascad bit her lip and urged her shadow horse on.
The plains were easy to walk through. The grasses parted and swayed with ease. But Cascad was smart. She'd walk for awhile, then come to a stop and wait. Then she'd start in another direction. No doubt the guards were following the movement of the plains.

Night fell and she had to stop. She was tired and hungry and the shadow horse was thirsty. There was no water nor moisture anywhere in the dry golden plains.
Cascad's special power was water. She just bended water out of the air made it levitate beneath the shadow horse's mouth. She eagerly drank it up.
"There now, Kia, feel better?" Cascad smiled.
Kia grunted and started nibbling on the dry grass. Cascad started eating on some bread while laying down to sleep.

Cascad awoke with the sun shining down on her. She opened her eyes and saw another face. A face that seemed attractive to her. A male... maybe two years older than her.
She stood immediately and pulled out her dagger, "Who are you?"

CHAPTER TWO
The Stranger

"Wow, you're very pretty for a warrior elf," he commented.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Cascad asked defensively.
He shrugged, "Just that you're prettier than most. I don't much go for the blonds anymore... but I guess you're a bit more than beautiful."
He squinted at her.
"Who are you?" she asked, in an attack stance and keeping her dagger out for the ready.
He put his hands out and moved them back and forth as he said, "Heeeyy, heeeyy. Calm down. You can call me Stranger."
"Sure. Why are you here?" Cascad asked.
He shrugged, dropping his hands, "Various reasons, I guess."
Cascad stood, lifting a brow at the stranger. He was so different.
"What are you?" she asked.
"Wow, what good manners the pretty elf has!" he exclaimed, laughing. "I'm a stranger."
"What does that make you? A human ranger?" Cascad questioned.
"What's with the interrigation?"
"What's with you intruding?"
They stood looking at each other for awhile. Then Cascad dropped the gaze.
"Ha!" his sudden outburst startled her. "I win!"
"Win? How? What?" Cascad was confused.
Probably a silly human game. Well I will be off before he alerts the guards, Cascad thought.
"Forgot to say. The guards were called in. Something went down at the base," Stranger said, grinning.
Cascad gave him a wierd look and went to packing. Once she had everything up, she hopped up on her shadow horse.
"Farewell," she said to him.
"No, no. No farewell. I'm going where you are going," he said, following.
"I insist that you stay," Cascad ordered.
"And I insist that you let me follow," he said.
Cascad glared, "If you wish then. Your life is not my concern and you will find your own food."
"Fair enough. But I won't say the same for you, ma' lady," he said.
"Why not?" Cascad asked, a little upset.
"I would not be a gentleman if I said such things to a lady," he grinned.
"Are you suggesting that I cannot provide for myself because I am a woman?" Cascad questioned, feeling insulted.
"No. Not what I said. I am just saying when there comes a time you will need a hand... I will lend one to you," he replied sencerely.
"Humph," Cascad grunted, jerking her head, causing her hair to swing. "Well dream on, because I am quite able to provide for myself."
"Well, I should think so... legendary warrior," Stranger smiled.
Cascad smiled, So he knew of me. Perfect.

The exchange between "Stranger" and Cascad was sort of funny and sort of cute ^_^. Your writing is pretty good. But, if she was a legendary warrior and is know even to the Lord, how come she seem so......hm.....afraid??? It gives me the feeling that she's a bit inexperienced. Even when you described her training and said she's done many quests, it sounded like she's never actually done anything extrodinary. Maybe you should give more description on how she became legendary and what sort of feats she's done.

That's why you have to read. She has a very interesting and sad past. Her personality is unique. Her mind set is... well her own. But everything unravels as the story continues. I don't spit everything out all in one. It's more interesting if the info is spread out and the reader won't get bored. The reader can also have fun predicting and finding out the things he/she questions.
