Because manga comes first...then it becomes adapted to anime if it's popular enough. Then, it goes beyond that with live-actions and movies and licensing.

Though it could go something like this: manga --> license maybe (Amatsuki wasn't licensed but there's still an anime) --> anime if popular enough --> License if popular enough --> Live action or drama if good enough.

@Topic Starter
You've gotta be kidding me, with 24 pages a week, you call that fast? I'd rather say otherwise.

1 simple reason: anime plots are always derived from the mangas, so the mangakans must be given enough time to develop the stories in the way they wanted

also the massive amount of work to produce a 23 min long episode is way too much (1000s of pics have to be drawn before they get animated, getting the scripts ready for voice actors/ seiyuu to dub etc)... the mangakan's job to produce 18 pg story each week is much quicker and easier in comparison.

Almost all animes have to go through publishing its own manga. As it is much cheaper as compared to Anime. Animation houses or publishing companies should assure first if the series is worth the money to broadcast. If the manga had already established good reviews from audiences then they can now deliberate if it is worth animating. It maybe an exemption to already acclaimed mangakas and editors.

Isn't the anime anime always based on the manga? they want to see if the manga becomes popular then they could make money off manga by making an anime of it

Because most animes are based off of mangas, so in order to avoid changing the storyline in between the two they try to put out the manga faster to keep their storylines similar. In addition animes can cover more story i less time (1 episode of anime can range between 2-5 chapters usually) so the anime has to slow down for the material to keep up.

obviously is cuz the anime is based on the manga. how can the producer produce anime that is not created by the mangaka. ~.~ that explains the existence of filler eps as well, so as to leave a gap in btw in order for the mangaka to come up with more plot ^^

Well, it's because animes are based on the mangas.... But I agree with you... They should make animes faster... But I still Love both mangas and animes all the same.... They're all amazing...

Probably because the manga is created first (the anime is based on it)
