Itazura na Kiss (イタズラなKiss, Mischievous Kiss?) is the popular, unfinished manga series by mangaka Kaoru Tada. Itazura na Kiss began to be serialized and published in 1991 by Shueisha through Margaret Magazine. It became successful very quickly and became the manga series that Tada became known for in Japan. The manga became so popular that two live TV series have been made so far in 1996 and 2005, with a sequel of the 2005 drama set to be aired in late 2007. Despite its success, the manga was never completed due to the unexpected death of the author in a house accident while she was moving to another house with her husband and son. However the manga series continues to be published with the permission of the late artist's husband.

I have been noticing many people thinking, actually more like 'complaining' that this anime Itazura na Kiss copied the TW drama It Started With a Kiss or ISWAK. Actually it was the other way around.

ISWAK based its story line on the manga Itazura Na Kiss, and now they made this manga an anime.

ISWAK's plot is very close, if not the same as the manga's plot with a few variations. This anime did not copy ISWAK, but ISWAK copied it.

This goes to the Jdrama 'Itazura na Kiss' as well, although this live action was very different to the manga, loosely staying true to the manga.

And now my opinion.

I am sick and tired of people saying this anime is the same as ISWAK.

quotes from users thinking so.
'omg wtf, this is exactly the same as ISWAK!'
'wtf, this copied ISWAK!'
'omg, i know ISWAK was good but they didnt need to copy it!

Get your facts right before saying that kind of crap, do some research or something because the manga was written 10 years before ISWAK was made.

It pisses me off seeing people say that stuff. I dont care if your avid fans of ISWAK, but keep in mind that ISWAK based its story of the manga which was turned into an anime this year.

Any questions or opinions?

To be honest, I think no one should be saying anything copied anything simply because if you think about it, ISWAK/TKA, Itazura na kiss J-drama and Itazura na Kiss anime were all based off the manga, so anyone who says ISWAK copied the anime is wrong since you can argue that all the above mentioned three copied the manga...people really should realize by now that if two shows in two different languages have the same plot line (especially if the languages are Taiwanese and Japanese), it's very likely that they came from the same manga......=.=

Lol People should really realize that it's not "copying" when it's all supposed to be the same xD Or maybe they didn't realize just because they didn't recognize Japanese title vs. the english title. The character names are probably different in the drama so it might have been confusing xD Those comments are kinda funny to me, but nothing to get angry over.

hehehe and i posted the same info on the wall... hehehehe....

well sad part is before finishing the manga Kauro Tada died.... but she told her husband on how she will end the manga series. they say that the manga ending is different from the anime ending...i guess we'll just have to wait and find out... only 8 episode remaining plans is its only from 25 to 26 episodes.

I'm really agree with u, things are completely different when it comes to manga and anime and there's no way I could compare this anime with "ISWAK". if you look the anime and read the manga there's no way you could REALLY compare it with the drama.

at least that's what I think.

If those people who don't believe such fact, you can visit http://en.wikipedia.org and look for the information on ISWAK.. It is CLEARLY stated there that they based the story in ITAZURA NA KISS....

Arrrgg, I hate those people..

It Started with a Kiss (traditional Chinese: 惡作劇之吻; simplified Chinese: 恶作剧之吻; pinyin: Èzuòjù zhī wěn) was a popular Taiwanese drama that aired on China Television and Gala Television from September 25, 2005, to February 12, 2006. It was based on the first 10 volumes of the Japanese manga series Itazura na Kiss (イタズラなKiss, Mischievous Kiss) by Kaoru Tada and starred Taiwanese idols Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin as the leading characters. The show was one of the highest-rated Taiwanese dramas of 2005.

This anime and the TW drama ISWAK & TKA is extracted base on the manga. It is of course not copying from ISWAK, don't we all know that?

I agree haha. But it was only the first 10 mangas...Still, your right, although I wouldn't call it copying.
