I used to drink a lot of milk. I didn't realize I was that lactose intolerant until later years so I drink boy normal milk and soy. Go take some of the lactase tablets to help out. Otherwise if you are lazy like me, drink less before going to school and chug the rest at home. I get home late so I watch the times when I guzzle down the milk.

thanks !

ok, just to get that over with...

i like to drink milk a lot, and i usually drink milk instead of water, but i'm lactose intolerant and i can get away with a gurgling stomach in the summer at home, but school is starting and it will be very embarrassing in a silent classroom...

milk for lactose intolerant people is twice the price and i don't want to try that...

can any lactose intolerant milk-drinkers give me some advice? i heard that heating it up sometimes works... i need to try that yet...

haha learnt about this in science class.
lactose intolerant people do not produce lactase (enzymes that work on lactose) in their small intestine
-swallow a drop of lactase.
take lactase enzyme supplement before drinking milk.
it can be in a tablet or liquid form.
go to the pharmacy [:

thanks very much!!! (yeah, homa, why can't you be more like this nice girl over here? *taunt* )

okay,as you wish

Yeah, I'm lactose intolerant and allergic to milk products! So I can't have milk at all even with a lactase pill! Sad! (I've never used the pill anyways, bc I'm not a fan of pills.)

But you can take the pill if you are only intolerant. You can also buy lactose free milk and icecream and then there is no need for the pill. I haven't seen lactose free cheeses, but I'm sure they are out there. It's sad that there aren't more lactose free products out there since many people have low tolerance for dairy, especially Asians, African Americans and Native Americans. Some level of intolerance is not abnormal. Actually, having tolerance for milk products is actually due to a genetic mutation, believe it or not. People are naturally supposed to become intolerant of milk as they age.

Lactose intolerant milk isn't expensive! It's only a few cents more than the regular milk. You could also buy soymilk! (That may be a little more expensive, maybe 60 cents more, not too bad).

Oh yeah, beware of foods that don't seem like they have milk in them. Many cereals have milk in their ingredients. Read labels!

Good luck!

thanks !!! i can tell that you're a girl who really cares about health and all that... me too!!

There are lactose-free milk out in the market. Or if you want, there are lactase tablets which can be bought OTC at the pharmacy.
