same with me.. i'm a filipina and i'm in the philippines but i prefer watching jdramas.

Theyre just too corny no? But have you seen Ysabella w/ Judy Ann. That one was okay ... not great, but okay. Not too irritating.

a new breed of leading ladies/men would do. i'm tired of seeing the same faces and same stories over and over again. I dunno but when I watch K/J/Tdramas, [s]usually[/s] ALL the time, I get carried away. Filipino dramas, imo, dont make any sensible connection.

Yes I do because as a filipino I would like to be able to enjoy shows that my home country produces. I moved away from philippines as a child but even my parents don't like filipino dramas. they don't even bother getting TFC because no one in the house would watch it. i'm not saying philippines should imitate the style in which other easter asian countries do their dramas.. but there definitely is a need for change.

I HATE how every show ends up with "I'm gonna kill you" plots... and away with the effin 5 days a week format. put the shows on a once a week kind of thing so that the effin cgi would look decent.. heck even better i wish they would prefilm the shows before they start airing them so that the editing would be nice. oh and when a show gets extended, the quality of the story goes kaboom. also, wtf is up with a lot of shows having the protagonist being related to the antagonist?

Philippine TV stations wont like it.
Filipinos love their dramas as it is. No matter how long and dragging as you call it.

Nope. Its our style and we do improve at some aspect. (I just hate Fantaserye though)

I do like Korean and Japanese drama (maybe because its something new at-first). But after awhile, it gets tiring. For me currently Korean dramas that are being produce are becoming cliches. I first got into their romantic-comedy drama and thought WHOA. I later on watch some other type but i got over it... As a whole, I find the packaging of korean dramas predictable and redundant as years past(i know most of u feel the same). Maybe this might be the problem for most of you. Your aware of how Filipinos act and our culture and the reason as to why you guys find the drama corny and plain the same. Come on, you can always find faults in dramas (in any country).

I appreciate Filipino Drama. This is because of our culture being shown, GREAT ACTING by actor and actress, and OPM music.

My recommended Filipino Drama:

* Maalaala Mo ka ya (1991-Present)

*Natutulog ba ang Diyos? (2007) English-Sub http://www.veoh.com/channels/ntlbad

* Gulong ng palad (2006)

For light and romantic-comedy
LOVESPELL (esp season 1's "MY Girl" with Kim and Gerald and season 2's "Home Switch Home" with Maja Salvador, etc.)

try to imagine on the 2 leading networks in the PHILIPPINES.
they brought asian dramas here in the PHILIPPINES and the Filipinos prefer watching those rather than re very own dramas...
