I think Stephen King has the most interesting movies made from his books. You may also tell a movie that you think was made well from the book. What movies do you think do justice to the authors books? Which authors have the best movies made from there books? O_O Lets find out shall we.

Tolkien hands down.

I dont know if this counts but DC comics. The First spiderman was pretty good, and the new batman movies are amazing.

Her name is Anne Rice ~it was both the movie and the book title.

Anyway, the best books-to-movies I've seen thus far, I have to admit, have been Stephen King's. Tolkien's *sry if I spelled it wrong* were also very good. Generally speaking though I don't like it when they make a movie version because they always ruin the story. Though I can think of one major exception. "Stardust" the movie was amazingly better than the book, esp the ending.

Steven King he write other stuff beside horror, and William Shakespeare
Asian author : Jin Yong (the condor trilogy, just the LOCH alone has like 5 version) and Gu Long (Chor Lui Heng, Lu Xiao Feng, Flying Dagger, i think Gu Long wrote about 60 stories), pretty much almost all of the kung fu movie and drama are base on these two author stories)
