There are only a few anime that really touches me and made me cry and the lastest one would be Ano Hana.I cried a lot with that one .Somehow stories with friendship and deaths always gets me since I have my share of painful memories in that department .
Currently , Space Brothers is touching in a special way as well.

Hotaru no Haka (Graveyard of the Fireflies), an early Miyazaki masterpiece and definitely the most poignant anti-war film of any type I've ever seen. If you watch the dub, I highly recommend you watch the sub soon after, bc the jp female lead was quite the prodigy and carried off this role at only 4 years old... amazing.

Not a lot of people put it but,
Angel Beats! for sure for me.. It's one of only a few anime's to make me full out CRY.
Clannad and Honey & Clover are close runners however
I know more people say Clannad than AB!, but AB! just hit me differently than Clannad did I suppose, although both were equally touching.
