I can't read those... but I'll guess anyway. If one of them is Wei Yan, it's probably the 2nd one, since she seems more like a warrior.

And mentioning Wei Yan makes me think of Shu. The first picture doesn't look like a warrior, so it must be an advisor. I think it must be Pang Tong.

This is my first post so please go easy on me.

Since I happen to be Chinese (and both a fan of San Guo Yan Yi and Koihme), I believe I may be of some help here.

Note: If you see question marks or boxes or something, install east asian text on your computer and change your encoding on internet explorer (Although you should be able to see them with UTF-8 Unicode).

These names are a bit hard because neither of them sound like the original Chinese, but here they are. Names in RED.

The first one is Yan Yan (嚴顏), but in Japanese they put three dots instead of two ko (character for mouth) on the very top of the first Yan (Couldn't have figured it out without my Japanese to Chinese dictionary, since the addition or removal of even a single dot can make a different character), and in simplified it is written much... simpler, and very different: 严. Both "Yan" sound exactly the same, they even both have the second sound/accent/whatever they call it in English. Yan Yan was general for Liu Zhang, but was captured by Zhang Fei and later convinced to serve Liu Bei. It says her true name is Kikyou - Should be interesting to see what her relationship will be with Rinrin.

You are right to say the second one is Wei Yan (魏延), a talented soldier that first served Liu Biao, then Han Xuan (whom Wei Yan betrayed), before joining Liu Bei. The "Yan" in Wei Yan has the same sound as both of the "Yan" in Yan Yan. Wei Yan once attempted to kill SiMa Yi, and is known for similar aggressive/impulsive acts. Because of this, Wei Yan was all but incompatible with strategies and methods that were thought up by ZhuGe Liang. Wei Yan would jump at any chance to call ZhuGe Liang incompetent, even foolish; this is often thought to be because ZhuGe Liang once ordered Wei Yan executed, on the basis that anybody who betrays their lord so easily cannot be trusted (Similar to the case with Cao Cao and Lu Bu, except Lu Bu wasn't spared). It says her true name is Enya - Should be interesting to see what her relationship will be with Shuri.

Well, hope that answers everything! Kind of a little bit embarassed to be posting...

*Goes back to hiding in a hole* I'm not here!
